- Hotel Breakfast: - 2 Cenote dives (box lunch included): The two-tank cenote dive trip takes about 5 hours, the day starts at 8:30 AM at Maya Blue Dive Center. Your guide will provide a thorough briefing at the dive center(or cenote) concerning scuba-procedures, safety, cenote regulation, history, and any points of interest. After you have a good understanding of what you can expect, you will be able to enjoy your experience even more. We will provide transportation to go to the cenote. Arrived at the cenote, your guide will show you around the jungle area, cenote facilities, and the points of easy entry and exit. Once in the water, the guide will show you the magic of the cenote. There will be the opportunity to enjoy the (included) lunch and beverages. After lunch, you will head off to a different cenote for another exciting tour. Later you will have some free time at the cenote. - Hotel Breakfast - Drive from Playa del Carmen to Xcalak (4 h 34 min approx -343 km) - 1 tk Dive in Xcalak Reef National Park: The local reef has a lot to offer with a wide range of sizes to suit different interests, whether you are interested in beautiful coral gardens, diving along a wall, or navigating your way through swim-throughs. We are lucky to be situated just north of a protected Manatee reserve located within Chetumal Bay, so there are certain dive sites where the chances of seeing Manatees are pretty good! PREREQUISITES: Must have proof of SCUBA Certification from an accredited organization (PADI, CMAS, NAUI, SSI, TDI, etc.) - Please remember to bring your certification and logbook on your first day of diving. Due to the remoteness of XTC, we encourage all divers to carry personal diving insurance in the unlikely event of an accident. - Breakfast at Coral Bar & Grill - Drive from Xcalak to Calakmul - Make a stop in the Biosphere to see the Sunset & the Bat Cave: You wait with anticipation high above the entrance of the cave. As twilights begin single bats begin to emerge and the birds of prey begin screeching and circling above. Finally, the flood gates open and millions of bats swirl out of the cave, spiraling toward the sky. You'll be using the rental car to go to the ruins, the guide will lead you: Calakmul, Mexico’s only mixed UNESCO World Heritage Site, is both a protected Biosphere Reserve and an important archeological ruin, the largest uncovered to date in the Maya Lowlands. Known as the seat of the Snake Kingdom and primary rival of Tikal, Calakmul is now believed to have been one of four regional centers of power during the Classic period. Located deep within the jungle near the Guatemalan border, Calakmul is too far from any large tourist centers to attract crowds. These extensive, well-preserved ruins extend across a 70-kilometer site marked by three large pyramids and numerous carved stone stelae, more than any other known Maya site. Although the trails inside the park are marked and well-kept, and there is a restroom at the entrance, very few people venture out here—certainly not in tour buses. The absence of crowds gives Calakmul another advantage: The surrounding rainforest is also protected and untamed. Wild boar and Yucatán turkeys forage in the underbrush along the entrance road.
