Arrival in San Jose: Welcome to beautiful Costa Rica! ¡Bienvenidos a Costa Rica! Once you arrive in beautiful Costa Rica, a representative will be waiting for you at the airport and will provide all the travel documents you need. Transportation service will take you to your hotel located in the heart of the metropolitan area of San José.  If you arrive early, we have some suggestions for you to experience the cultural attractions of Costa Rica's capital city. Be sure to explore Barrio Amón, a historic neighborhood home to cafetalero (coffee grower) mansions built during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of this area’s historic buildings have been converted into hotels, restaurants, and galleries, making Amón a popular bohemian district.  For dinner, opt for a restaurant in the hills of Escazú. This elevated region on the western edge of the city offers panoramic views of the valley below. That said, San José is filled with great restaurants serving everything from traditional to forward-thinking fusion cuisine.

From San Jose to Tortuguero National Park 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. A driver will pick you up at your hotel in San Jose. For an hour and a half admire the biodiversity of a protected area, while we pass through Braulio Carrillo's National Park. 8:30 a.m.  Enjoy breakfast en route. 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  You will arrive at the marina dock, then, you will board a comfortable boat, and thus the adventure will begin to enjoy this enchanting paradise while navigating through beautiful rivers, canals, and lagoons. 1:00 p.m.  Arrival at the Lodge, and enjoy a refreshing welcome cocktail and a delicious lunch. 2:45 p.m.  You will visit the small town of Tortuguero, with all its Caribbean charm.  7:00 p.m.  Dinner at the Lodge.

Today you will experience the beauty of the rainforest on a boat trip through the Tortuguero National Park. During this boat trip, you will discover many birds and animals that can only be seen in this tropical paradise. Your expert guide will point out to you the different species of birds, monkeys, sloths, and more. He will explain about this beautiful ecosystem. The rest of the day is free to enjoy the tropical gardens and the swimming pool at the lodge. You will enjoy this beautiful destination. Your guide will let you know at what time the boat tour will start.

Today after breakfast, it is time to say bye to Tortuguero and get ready to continue your adventure. You will travel back to the dock and you will continue by bus to Guapiles, where you will enjoy lunch. After lunch, a transportation service will pick you up to continue to Sarapiqui, which is known throughout Costa Rica for its amazing and rich biodiversity as well as for being the dream destination of nature seekers. After you arrive in the town and check in at your hotel, you will enjoy the afternoon at leisure to explore the surroundings of your hotel. If you want to hike and look for some birds after your arrival, we recommend the following sites: Selva Verde, nestled within a 500-acre private reserve. Join, on-site one of Selva Verde's naturalists for an exciting nighttime tour along the trails with a naturalist, who will help you spot nocturnal animals including tree frogs, leaf-mimicking insects, kinkajous, and bats. La Tirimbina Rainforest Center, you can take a walk, during the walk you go through the trails. In addition, enjoy the different characteristics of the unique vegetation in the rainforest, as well as sightings of different species of wildlife.

• Finca Surá Farm Tour 

A local farm experience awaits you today. You will visit Finca Sura, the farm is managed by a local family. There you will make an ecofinca tour and get to know various typical Costa Rican products such as manioc, sugar cane, vanilla, pepper, palm hearts, and pineapple. You will not only learn how to plant pineapples but also how to press sugar cane, harvest manioc, and see many poison dart frogs along the way. Part of this tour is a delicious typical lunch to finish the tour.

• Night Walk at Tirimbina Rainforest Center

At night, you will enjoy a visit to La Tirimbina Rainforest Center, to enjoy a night walk, during this tour you will be guided across Tirmibina’s suspension bridge and explore the rainforest when it is dark and when most of the rainforest animals are active, you may have the opportunity to spot animals like sloths, the red-eyed tree frog, porcupine, kinkajou and more.

Today, at the appropriate time,  you will take your transportation and travel for 1.15 hours to La Fortuna, best known as the base for exploring the Arenal Volcano National Park. Located north of the Tilaran Mountains, the cone-shaped Arenal juts out above the San Carlos Plains. After checking into your hotel, you'll have the rest of the day to explore on your own.  The town of La Fortuna is known for its wonderful combination of adventure and nature, here you can do many different activities or visit one of the hot springs resorts where you will undoubtedly relax and have a great experience.

Visit Danaus Ecological Park You will visit the Danaus Ecological Park. This small ecological reserve, naturally regenerated, thanks to the efforts of a group of people concerned about the conservation of our environment and the education of children and adults in the area, is a wonderful project that has cooperated with the sustainable tourism development of La Fortuna town. The visit includes a circuit tour through the regeneration of the secondary rainforest. Here you will find a Botanical Garden with more than 600 species of plants, a butterfly garden with more than 40 species, different areas for the natural reproduction of frogs, a display of medicinal plants, a wetland that has been declared of national importance for nesting of birds and observation, and Casa Maleku, representative of an indigenous tribe of the North Region, that will allow you to learn a little about the indigenous cultures of Costa Rica. In addition to these highlights, the entire trail offers excellent opportunities to see wildlife in regeneration; Frogs, snakes, turtles, alligators, monkeys, sloths, reptiles, agouties, and birds are usually seen around the area. Ecotermales Hot Springs At the appropriate time, you will visit The Ecotermales Hot Springs, located in La Fortuna, which provides each visitor with an escape into the natural paradise, with all of the necessary comforts to make your experience memorable, filled with the peace and serenity of the tropical rainforest and impressive views of the Arenal Volcano, which heats and nourishes our waters. During their stay, visitors will have the pleasure of the natural energy that surges from the veins of the Arenal Volcano and heats the thermal pools, which range from 32°C to 41 °C (90°F to 106 °F), as well as the cool water pools and waterfall This visit includes a traditional lunch or a buffet-style dinner, with quality cuts of meat, fresh salads, and a variety of side dishes, which highlight the art of Costa Rican cuisine.

Today it is time for you to say goodbye! According to your departure time, you will be transferred from Arenal back to Juan Santamaria International Airport to catch your international flight. We wish you a nice flight back home and a heart full of beautiful memories!
