Trip Snapshot
The trekking begins in a scenic area of Pamir – the Kickik-Alay region (“Small Alay”) near the Kozho-Kelen valley. While moving along the Alay Range we will cross two high-mountain passes to reach the canyon with waterfall and red rocks forming the "Three Dragon Gorge". Then, ascending a mountain Dzhiptyk pass (4185 m) and seeing Lenin Peak (7134 m) and all Trans-Alay range for the first time spread out in all its glory is one of the most memorable experience of that trekking. The Pamir Alay valley, located between Alay and Trans Alay Range of Pamir mountain system, is one of the most spectacular and rugged landscapes. Hiking in the surroundings of Pamir Alay valley, enjoy the incredible glaciers, colorful mountains, turquoise lakes, splendid views from Travellers' Pass (4150 m) and traditions of local nomads. Trek up to the foot of the famous Lenin Peak to the Sunny camp (4400 m) and ascend the top of nearby Yukhin Peak (5130 m). It’s easy climb summit over 5000 meters which not require any special equipment or advanced training level. It’s an unbelievably beautiful hike, made better by a handful of cozy yurt camps and mountain glampings that provide comfort along the way. This entire region of Alay Mountains make this under-explored side of the Pamirs great for travelers looking to expand their horizons in one of the most popular destinations for trekking in Kyrgyzstan.
