Ascent to Skobelev Peak

10 days

Trip Snapshot

Join a spectacular trekking adventure through the wild beauty of the Pamir-Alay mountains, crowned by a guided ascent of Skobelev Peak – a stunning 5000er in the Alay Mountains, southern Kyrgyzstan. Tour highlights: Hike through the amazing Kokjar Valley and its namesake glacier. Along the way, we’ll pass untouched alpine meadows, bizarrely shaped rocks, crystal-clear lakes, and rushing mountain rivers. Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide, you’ll reach the summit of Skobelev Peak (5051 m), the highest point of the Kichik-Alay range and one of the most accessible yet striking five-thousanders in the region. The ascent is technically straightforward and rewards climbers with breathtaking views over the entire Kichik-Alay region. The trek also includes a non-technical crossing of the high-altitude Kokjar Pass (4165 m). Expect magnificent panoramas over the Alay Valley and the Trans-Alay Range, where the massive snow-covered silhouette of Lenin Peak (7134 m) rise on the horizon. Our journey ends in the vast Alay Valley – a grand tectonic basin nestled between the Alay and Trans-Alay ranges. From there, we return to civilization via the legendary Pamir Highway, ranked by National Geographic among the five most beautiful roads in the world, arriving back in the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh. This adventure tour is perfect for hikers and aspiring mountaineers looking to experience the energy of the Pamir mountains.
