When you arrive at Athens Airport, your driver will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name. You will be transferred directly from the airport to your hotel in Athens.

After settling in, you can explore the city center of Athens on foot. The city’s most significant classical monuments were constructed around 400 BC, marking its historical heyday. In the periods that followed, including the Byzantine and Turkish eras, Athens declined to a small village before being named the capital of newly independent Greece in 1833. After your visit to the Acropolis, prepare for a three-hour food tour designed to immerse you in Athenian culinary culture. During this experiential tour in the heart of the city, you will explore authentic neighborhoods and visit local artisans who have refined their recipes over decades. The tour includes stops at specialty food stores sourcing products from across Greece and a walk through the vibrant central food market.

Today you will participate in a treasure hunt across Athens, designed to introduce you to the city’s landmarks and lesser-known sites in an engaging way. You will follow directions, hunt for clues, and solve riddles as you move through the city.

During the hunt, you will interact with local residents, sample treats and drinks that are favorites among Athenians, and gain insight into daily life in Athens. The objective is to navigate the city and discover its culture through a series of puzzles and challenges tailored for visitors new to Athens. By completing the tasks, you experience the city as a local for the day and enjoy a fun, interactive introduction to Athenian life.

Athens’ neighborhoods are known for their vibrant street life and blend of ancient and contemporary culture.

Your day begins with a private transfer from your Athens hotel to the airport. The pick-up time for your transfer will be communicated at your hotel. Your driver will take you directly to Athens Airport for your domestic flight to Zakynthos.

Upon arrival at Zakynthos Airport, you will be met by your driver holding a sign with your name. You will then be transferred from the airport to your hotel on Zakynthos.

The remainder of your day is at leisure on Zakynthos. The island, also known as Zante, offers a wealth of historical sites and points of interest for those interested in culture. You can choose from a variety of activities during your free time. The island’s most famous attraction is the Shipwreck, a scenic beach on the northern coast. If you decide to visit, you can take photos and admire the Mediterranean landscape from a large metal platform situated on a hilltop above the beach. Several notable sights in this area are accessible by car.

Zakynthos is renowned for its dramatic coastline and is home to the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, which nests on its beaches.

Today you visit Navagio Beach, the most famous beach on Zakynthos and one of the six most photographed beaches in Greece. This beach is only accessible by sea and is known for its striking scale and unique appearance, with millions of small pebbles and vivid blue waters stretching out to the horizon. The shipwreck resting on the shore appears as if it were crafted by an artist.

After exploring the island by land, you will board a cruise to marvel at the Blue Caves. The Blue Caves are a well-known attraction on Zakynthos, consisting of a series of geological formations that create a sequence of caves along the island’s northwest coast. These caves begin just after Agios Nikolaos and extend to Skinari Cape. You can visit the caves either with your own boat or by joining one of the many organized tours available.

Navagio Beach, also called Shipwreck Beach, became iconic after the MV Panagiotis ran aground there in 1980, giving the site its distinctive name and appearance.

Your driver meets you in your hotel lobby to start the day. You will take a fast boat from Zakynthos back to the Peloponnese Peninsula. Upon arrival at Kyllini port, your driver transfers you first to Ancient Olympia, then to a honey farm, before reaching your final destination of the day, Pylos.

At Olympia, you join a guided tour of the archaeological site and museum. You will walk through the extensive ruins and learn about the major attractions, including the massive Temple of Zeus, the museum collection, and the ancient stadium where athletes trained and competed 3,000 years ago.

After visiting Olympia, you continue to a local honey farm. Here, you learn about honey production and sample local sweets made from honey.

Olympia was the site of the ancient Olympic Games, first held in 776 BC and celebrated every four years in honor of Zeus.

Begin your sea kayaking adventure at Divari Beach, near Gialova Lagoon. Before setting out, you will receive a briefing covering trip details, paddling techniques, and safety procedures. You paddle along the coastline, passing the town of Pylos and the Niokastro castle, heading toward Tsihli Baba, a monolithic islet with a striking rock arch at its northern tip. If conditions allow, you will circle the islet, explore sea caves, and paddle through tunnels and arches. The next stop is the only beach on the island of Sphacteria accessible from the sea. Here, you have time to swim, snorkel, sunbathe, rest, and enjoy a picnic featuring freshly baked bread, organic fruits and vegetables, homemade olive oil, and cheese. After lunch, you paddle back to the starting point, completing your day in the tranquility of Navarino Bay.

Option B: Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) at Voidokilia Beach

Alternatively, you can try SUP at Voidokilia Beach, a world-famous site on Messinia’s western coast known for its unique “omega” shape and natural setting. The activity begins with instruction on basic paddling, turning, stopping, and standing up. Once you are comfortable, you set out to explore the coast, paddling toward a nearby cove with clear waters. There, you can swim and use snorkeling equipment.

Navarino Bay was the site of the pivotal 1827 naval battle during the Greek War of Independence, shaping modern Greek history.

You can choose between two activities today in Pylos.

Option A: Hike, Swim, and Archery at Polylimnio Waterfall

Start from the village of Haravgi and descend into the gorge, following water streams to a remarkable natural setting. The trail leads through a landscape filled with water fonts, lush vegetation, and striking waterfalls. The main waterfall, Kadi, drops 25 meters into a turquoise pond surrounded by large rocks. Other lakes, such as Kadi and Mavrolimna, provide opportunities to swim in cool waters. The hike is easy and covers three kilometers, offering a unique experience in nature. After hiking, you can try archery and test your skills with bow and arrow. The activity concludes with a picnic featuring local products.

Option B: Hike Around Navarino Bay

Begin at Divari Beach and follow a path around the lagoon, where you can observe the ecosystem and learn about this sensitive natural environment. The route passes the beach of Voidokilia, where you have the chance to swim in its turquoise waters. The hike continues uphill to the Koryfasio peninsula, where you can explore the cave of Nestor, known in Greek mythology as the home of the king of Pylos. At the top, you discover the medieval Paleocastro castle and walk along its fortifications, learning about its history and strategic importance. The hike offers panoramic views of the Ionian Sea, the Yalova lagoon, and the region’s distinctive landscape.

Polylimnio Waterfalls are a series of cascading lakes and falls, recognized for their natural beauty and biodiversity in Messinia.

Your driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel in Pylos and drive you to Nafplio.

Once you arrive in Nafplio, you have the day at your leisure. Nafplio is the first capital of modern Greece and is considered one of the country’s most beautiful towns. The city displays a blend of Venetian, Ottoman, and Greek architecture, situated below the imposing Palamidi Castle and featuring the fort of Bourgi on a small island in the center of the harbor.

As you explore, you will notice a maze of red and burnt-orange rooftops that evoke a journey through centuries of history. The refined atmosphere and elegant streets often make visitors return to Nafplio. The cobblestone streets and architectural details reflect the town’s enduring appeal. Nafplio remains a popular getaway for Athenians, and each corner of the city tells a different story.

Nafplio served as the capital of Greece from 1829 to 1834 and is renowned for its well-preserved neoclassical buildings and fortifications.

You will have two options for your guided activity today in Nafplio.

Option A: Mycenae Guided Tour

Depart in the morning to visit Mycenae. At the archaeological site and museum, you will join a guided tour to admire the monumental remains that harmonize with the surrounding landscape. Your guide will provide historical context about the Mycenaean civilization and share insights into the daily life of its people at this significant ancient location.

Option B: Epidaurus Guided Tour

Alternatively, you can take a scenic drive to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed site of Epidaurus. Here, you will explore the remarkably preserved ancient theater built in the 4th century BC, celebrated for its exceptional acoustics. The tour includes a visit to the sanctuary of Asklepios, believed by the ancient Greeks to be the birthplace of Apollo’s son and a major center for healing cults in the Ancient World. You will also learn about the emergence of scientific medicine at this historic site.

In the afternoon, you may choose to visit Palamidi Castle for panoramic views of the region or coordinate with your driver for leisure time at the beach.

Pottery Workshop

After your guided tour, you will participate in a pottery workshop. Drawing inspiration from Mycenaean artifacts, you will be introduced to ancient pottery techniques and create your own unique Mycenaean-style artifact to take home.

The ancient theater of Epidaurus remains a prominent venue for performances, continuing a tradition that dates back over 2,300 years.
