Head North for Shkodra and stop at its Rozafa castle, built by the Illyrians and witnessed many sieges and occupations throughout the centuries. Explore the largest city in northern Albania and former cultural and economic centre of the country which has witnessed many acts of war in view of its situation. After breakfast, start a day of exploration into the Albanian wilderness. Join the Komani ferry port and board on a boat for an adventure on on the beautiful Komani Lake, a must-see in Albania. After breakfast, leave for Durres. Most important port city of Albania. Stroll along the old town and discover its ancient Roman amphitheatre dating back to the 2nd century AD which is the only Roman amphitheatre in the country. Visit its archaeological museum, the largest in Albania, tracing the Greek and Roman occupations in the region. Lunch in a seafood restaurant. Take the road to the Karavasta Lagoon in Divjakë, Albania's largest lagoon with a large concentration of flora and fauna. Start a walk in a beautiful pine forest to discover the beauty of the lagoon. Join the beach from where you may have the chance to observe the pelicans or flamingos of Karavasta Lagoon National Park. Go up a panoramic tower and enjoy a 360-degree view of Karavasta. After breakfast, go to Berat. On the road, go to a family vineyard for a wine tasting in the cellar « Cobo Winery » and discover Albania's wine heritage. Berat, an example of a city with an architectural style typical of the Ottoman period. Berat is characterized by the coexistence of different religious and cultural communities over the centuries. Start an ascent to the heights of the city to join the Kala fortress built in the UNESCO 13thème century and weased to the UNESCO World Heritage. After breakfast, leave for Butrint and start a sightseeing tour of the archaeological site of an ancient city built by the Trojans after the fall of Troy. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. After your lunch, you will end your day in Ksamil, a small seaside resort in Albania and enjoy its beautiful sandy beaches.
