Day 1

Today you will arrive any time into Adelaide and check into the YHA at your leisure. Overnight share accommodation included. Overnight YHA Adelaide or similar Meals: None

Day 2

place Barossa Valley Day Tour

This morning you will meet your group for the next two weeks as you head off on your first tour to the Barossa Valley. This is a great day out, firstly visiting the worlds’ largest rocking horse and wildlife park in Gumeracha. Your first winery stop for the day will be an interactive tasting at Jacobs Creek, one of the best known wineries in the world. We then experience a second wine tasting and same great home-made pizza for lunch at Lambert Estate Vineyard. After lunch you will take in majestic views of the region from the Menglers Hill Lookout before stopping at your third and final structured wine tasting at Wolf Blass Wines as you return back to Adelaide in the late afternoon with a new bunch of mates. Day 3

place Free day Adelaide + Greyhound Coach to Coober Pedy

Enjoy some of the sights of this cosmopolitan city with its many laneway bars and cafes. Adelaide is a compact city easily navigated by foot, bicycle or public transport. In the evening your coach will depart for Coober Pedy arriving early at 5.15am. Although you are only spending 24 hours in this unique underground town, we have paid for your hostel for two nights so you can check-in when arriving and have some extra sleep before heading off on your tour of the town and region. Overnight: Coach and Coober Pedy hostel Meals: None

Day 4

Today join one of the most unique tours you will ever do in Australia, with an underground tour of the homes and a museum in Coober Pedy. Try your luck at some opal “noodling” and learn how this multicultural population of people survive the extreme heat conditions experienced in this Australian outback town. In the afternoon you will tour the scenic Breakaways which have been the film location for many famous Australian movies. Overnight: Coober Pedy hostel Meals: None

Day 5

place Coober Pedy to Alice Springs

Your coach trip today departs early morning and travels through red desert sands, spinifex sand-dunes, ghost gums and diverse arid environment wildlife. Arrive after lunch into Alice Springs. Alice Springs is the cultural heart of Australia, steeped in Aboriginal art & culture, stories of the early Afghan pioneers and famous settlers, fascinating museums and other historical sights. Spend the afternoon at leisure getting acquainted with this oasis in the desert. Overnight: Alice Springs Hostel (YHA or similar) Meals: None

Day 6

Alice Springs has a range of attractions within a short distance from town. Why not visit the Araluen Cultural Precinct, School of the Air, Old Telegraph Station, Desert Wildlife Park, Anzac Hill, the Western Macdonnell Ranges or soar above the desert in a hot air balloon. Alice also has a range of quirky bars or cafes, so there are plenty of options for food and drink. Overnight: Alice Springs Hostel (YHA or similar) Meals: None

Day 7

place Alice Springs to Uluru

Pick up from Alice Springs will be at 6am to travel to Uluru arriving at around lunchtime. After lunch, head to the Cultural Centre for an insight into the flora, fauna and the local Aboriginal people of the Red Centre. Your guide will take you on a short guided interpretive walk at the base of Uluru. You then head off to watch the spectacular Uluru sunset while enjoying a glass of sparkling wine with nibbles. Then it’s off to camp to enjoy a hearty meal, a hot shower and a night under the stars. Overnight swag camping: Yulara, near Uluru Meals: Lunch and dinner

Day 8

place Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon

An early breakfast is provided before watching the sunrise over Uluru, then it’s off to Kata Tjuta for a walk through the spectacular “Valley of the Winds” for a 7km hike. After lunch, we travel to Kings Creek Station, viewing the beautiful George Gill Range along the way. Here you will enjoy an outback BBQ dinner and laughs around the campfire under the incredible outback sky. Later, get into your swags for another perfect view of the stars. Overnight swag camping: Kings Creek Cattle Station, near Kings Canyon Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 9

place Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

After breakfast, experience the incredible Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park and hike around the famous rim walk. We will visit the North and South walls, The Garden of Eden, as well as the Natural Amphitheatre. After this amazing walk we hit the road starting the journey back to Alice Springs. We’ll arrive back into Alice Springs late afternoon. Overnight: Alice Springs Hostel (YHA or similar) Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day 10

place Free day in Alice Springs and depart for Katherine

Have a sleep in this morning to relax after your three days of touring and then maybe finish any activities that you didn’t previously. Maybe a camel ride before you head off this afternoon? After this free day in Alice Springs you will then depart at 5.30pm on an overnight Greyhound Coach to Katherine arriving at 9.55am Overnight: Greyhound Coach Meals: None

Day 11

place Katherine Gorge (Nitmiluk) National Park

Your tour guide will meet the group off the Greyhound coach at 10.00am and transfer the group to your campground to freshen up and potentially have a swim before lunch. After lunch you will then head directly to Nitmiluk National Park for the afternoon for four hours canoeing at Katherine Gorge (at an additional cost of approximately $82 per person), followed by your first Top End sunset. Return to your Katherine campground overnight. Overnight: Campground Katherine Meals: Lunch and dinner

Day 12

place Katherine to Kakadu National Park

This morning you will visit one of the best year-round waterfall areas in the whole of Northern Australia; Edith Falls. This amazing area has a top and bottom waterfall area for swimming and lazing around in the rock pools and crystal clear water. From here we head into the Southern end of the World Heritage Kakadu National Park and have lunch before getting your first introduction to this spectacular national park at the indigenous-owned Bowali Visitor Centre. This is a great first stop on your Kakadu adventure with an excellent interpretive center to help you gain a greater understanding of Kakadu’s landscape and rich culture from a different perspective. In the afternoon, visit the world-famous Ubirr Rock, made famous by the movie Crocodile Dundee, with its stunning views over the Arnhem Land escarpment. After another great sunset you will really know that you are in Australia’s remote Top End. Overnight: Jabiru camp, Kakadu National Park Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 13

place Mary River Wetlands Cruise and Litchfield National Park to Darwin

Your final day of touring before arriving in the tropical city of Darwin will see you depart early for a morning crocodile and wildlife cruise at Corroborree Billabong on the Mary River Wetlands. The lush Mary River wetlands is abundant in Top End wildlife, fish and an estimated 250 bird species. Cruise among the wetlands filled with lotus lilies and be guaranteed of seeing our apex predator the estuarine (salt-water) crocodile, known to grow to a length of seven metres in this endemic area. In the late morning, travel on to Litchfield National Park enjoying swimming in the bets locations the park has to offer, including Buley Rockhole and Florence Falls. Time permitting you will also visit the Magnetic Termite mounds, to see how these amazing insects shape the landscape in this region. Finish your tour back in Darwin and enjoy a cold beer with your friends, maybe hitting the town on Mitchell Street or the Darwin waterfront. Darwin has multiple waterholes, so you will not be disappointed. Overnight: Darwin Hostel (YHA or similar) Meals: Breakfast and lunch

Day 14

After a potentially big night out in Darwin, you can sleep in this morning before exploring the city at your own pace. There are many activities to be had if you wish, including the main attractions of Crocosaurus Cove and the Cyclone Tracy exhibit at the Darwin museum. Those in search of greater adventure can look to book optional activities (at own expense) that include Jet Skiing, Go Karts and a whole lot more. Overnight: Darwin Hostel (YHA or similar) Meals: None

Day 15

Darwin is a great place to find work and/or stay a little longer, but after two great weeks together as a group, most of you will say goodbye to your friends as you check out this morning and depart from you great outback experience. Meals: None
