Tsunza village
(Bird watching, Shrines visit, Mangrove planting, shrines visit, Mud bath, Rock climbing, Photography among others) This exciting adventure will take you to Tsunza Peninsula. In Tsunza you will find a small population of a unique local coastal people known as the “Duruma”. In the 19th century Arab settlers during that period were involved in slave trade and Tsunza provided a hide out for those fleeing arrest by the slave masters which has given Tsunza a unique adventure point. Tsunza is rich in original and pristine traditional heritage sites and features with a marvel for bird watching and photography. Pick up from hotel will be between 08:00 - 08:30am. You will meet the guide at the jetty who will brief on the tour and then board your local boat. Start your sail which will expose you to an amazing scenic beauty of this part of the Indian Ocean. Enjoy the unique views of the Indian ocean seen along this sail. As you sail lookout for bird watching, the unique shrines, mud baths, scenic beauty and photography. Lunch will be locally prepared and available. After lunch you will visit the caves and the Mwache valley – notice the unique monkeys in this place. This will further take you to the mouth of the 2 rivers, “Mwache” and “Goro” which form this unique V- Shaped feature that is amazing to the view! (nice view to capture on camera). Later enjoy the beauty of this indigenous culture through song and dance, plus the various religious shrines that this local community harbors and their strengths. A visit to a local polygamous homestead will be an exciting experience. On this trip you will encounter unique hiding caves, scenic walk & photography, rocks & rock climbing, eco learning e.g. tree coexisting with rocks, wine tapping & tasting, visit a local homestead (lifestyle), medicine man (Kayas), song & dance, weaving & beading session (take a 15 min lesson), boat rowing and so much more! Enjoy the adventure and discovery of amazing rich lifestyle!
