Day 1

place Arrival Meet and greet with the driver and transfer to your hotel for check-in in Muscat.

Day 2

place Muscat City Tour

Muscat City Tour begins with a visit of the majestic Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, a religious landmark of Muscat and splendor of unique Islamic architecture (Ladies should cover their head with a scarf and wear long-sleeved clothes. Men should wear long trousers and t-shirt with sleeves, kids are allowed in company with parents from 7 years and above, the mosque is closed on Friday). We continue to Mutrah Souq, which is a great opportunity to buy frankincense, gold, silver and other souvenirs. Enjoy the drive along the beautiful Corniche to old Muscat for a photo stop at Al Alam Palace. On the way back to the hotel, we stop for a picture at the Royal Opera House.

Day 3

place Day trip to Batinah area

The day trip begins with a drive to Barka where you visit the local fishmarket before you continue to Nakhl for a photostop of Nakhl Fort (from outside) and to the Ain Al Thawarah hot springs. You stop at Bait Al Ghasham Museum that hosted royalty in its 200-years history. Now the restored, mud-brick house has been converted into an interesting museum and hosts cultural events. Enjoy the visit and authentic Omani lunch experience before you head back to Muscat.

Day 4

place Head to Nizwa

After breakfast, start the tour with a drive to Jabreen castle (entrance fee OMR 3 per person), built between 16th to 17th centuries by Imam Balʿarab ibn Sultan. You continue to Bahla to admire the fortified city, Al Hamra which is a 400 years old village and further to Misfah Al Abriyeen, a pretty mountain village with stone dwellings still in existence. Continue to Nizwa for Check-in

Day 5

place Head to Jabal Akhdar

In the morning, visit the local Souq that is renowned for its hand-carved “Khanjars” (daggers), dates souk, pottery, ornamental silver jewelers and much more. Nizwa Fort is a castle with a huge cylindrical tower built in the 17th century (OMR 5 per person entrance fee). Drive to Birkat Al Mouz to visit the UNESCO falaj Al Katmain and enjoy a drive through the palm plantations. Continue to Jebel Akhdar on 2000 meters above sea level that is known as the green jewel of the Al Hajar mountain ranges. Visit the villages of Saiq (the village of the old houses), Al Ain landscape and Dianna Point view.

Day 6

place Head to desert and enjoy a mesmerizing sunset

Drive in around 3 hours to Wahiba Sands, located in the Al Sharqiya region. Experience sand dunes rising up to 200 meters that are also host to a variety of flora and fauna.

Day 7

place Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands

Drive around 1.5h to Wadi Bani Khalid, a famous Wadi with clear deep blue water pools. Experience this oasis with a short trekking or/and swimming. (Please wear covered clothes for both women and men in addition to your swimsuit.) Return to the desert camp in Wahiba Sands.

Day 8

place Head to Wahiba to Ras Al Had

After breakfast, start from Wahiba to Sur and visit its famous Dhow Factory, where they still build traditional Arabian ships. Ras Al Hadd is one of the turtle nesting areas where you can experience turtle watching after dinner (depending on the season & nature, it is not guaranteed to see turtles).

Day 9

place Head to Coastal Road to Muscat

Drive along the coastline and stop at Wadi Tiwi, adjacent to the very popular Wadi Shab but unique in its own way with numerous farms and plantations. Visit a huge sinkhole known as the Bimmah Sinkhole, specular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom and off road to Wadi Arbeieen with its deep pools of water set among the date palms, before heading to Muscat for your beach stay.
