Depends on your arrival you will start your discovery of Albania with a visit of the capital, Tirana! Landing in Tirana, at the International Tirana Airport “Mother Theresa”. You will be welcomed by the staff of our agency and accompanied to the hotel where you will be staying the first night. A city since 1614 and the capital of Albania since 1920, Tirana is the country's main cultural hub. You will be able to discover a city famous for the colorful facades of its buildings and the harmony between the various religions in the country. The visit of the National Museum located on Skanderbeg Square will be a nice introduction to the rich Albanian history! Close to this square, we will be able to see the mosque "Et'hem Bey", which has been preserved even during the communist era for its historical value, the opera, the clock tower and the palace of culture. We will then discover the superb Orthodox Cathedral.

Elbasan – Via Egnatia – Tushemisht
We will start our journey with the city of Elbasan. Elbasan is considered a model of the coexistence of peoples and different religions; we will therefore speak with the leader Bektachi (Un Derviche) to see more closely the spirituality which reigned between the people here. Then road to Via Egnatia was a road built by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. It crossed Illyria, Macedonia and Thrace, a territory which is now part of modern Albania, North Macedonia, Greece and European Turkey in the extension of Via Appia. Starting from Durres on the Adriatic Sea, the road followed a difficult route along the Shkumbin river, crossed the Candavie (Jablanica) mountains and then led to the high plateaus around Lake Ohrid. So we are going to hike in the footsteps of one of the greatest routes that have never existed and which characters like Strabo or Cicero crossed there. In the afternoon, departure for the village of Tushemisht. This village is located on the shore of Lake Ohrid, near North Macedonia. This lake, one of the oldest in the world, is classified by UNESCO for the richness of its fauna and flora. At the time of the communist regime, Tushemisht served as an example of prosperity for the personalities of Albanian communism, this city served as a natural setting for the shooting of some of the greatest films of our country.
