Day 4: Poonhill Sunrise | Trek Through Forest to Tadapani
Begin with a sunrise excursion to the Poonhill viewpoint at 3210m. From the top, watch the sun strike the mountains as their color shifts from white to orange, with a 180-degree Himalayan panorama stretching from the Dhaulagiri massif to Fishtail mountain, including the Annapurna ranges between.
Spend some time at the viewpoint before returning to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, start the 6-hour trek to Tadapani village at 2,700m, descending through forest areas with waterfalls and small settlements along the route.
The orange color seen on mountain peaks at sunrise is caused by low-angle sunlight passing through more of the atmosphere before reaching the snow-covered slopes.
