Otranto offers many possibilities, both day and night. During the day, you can decide to spend a few hours relaxing in one of the two small beaches of the city or away only a few kilometers away from some of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. There are numerous pubs and pizzerias, ice cream parlors, small shops selling souvenirs, handicraft and traditional productions not only during the day, but also until late at night. Grotta della Poesia Torre Sant’Andrea is an ancient fishing village, located a few kilometers north of Otranto, near Melendugno. The Adriatic coast of Salento offers a landscape of incredible beauty, between the wonderful beaches of the Baia dei Turchi and Torre dell'Orso there is, in fact, this work of art created by Mother Nature: the Sea Stacks of Torre Sant'Andrea, evocative limestone formations, shaped by the power of water, which are reflected in a crystal clear sea. This seaside place, beloved by Salentines and tourists, is mainly rocky and full of small coves, here the delightful beach is framed by the sixteenth-century defense tower and the small harbor in addition to the suggestive white rock guardians. Of all the Sea Stacks (faraglioni in italian), the most fascinating is the so-called "Arco degli Innamorati", with its own arch shape, which can be crossed by swimming. The stretch of coast is jagged and full of ravines and caves, behind the beach begins a large pine forest where you can have a picnic and enjoy some shade, from here through green paths and ladders carved into the rock you can find small sandy coves when the tide is low and the sea is calm. Torre Sant’Andrea has been awarded the Blue Flag and the 5 Sails of Legambiente several times. The place appears wild and unspoiled, but despite the absence of bathing establishments, a few restaurants, pizzerias and pubs, together with a rich program of outdoor events and concerts, make it a popular destination on summer evenings.
