Day 1 : Paracas, Peru
Embark on a breathtaking marine adventure to Peru's 'Little Galápagos'!
Choose your perfect departure time: 8:00 a.m. or 10:00 a.m.
Your journey begins as we cruise west from the charming coastal town of Paracas. Prepare to be awestruck by the colossal Candelabra Geoglyph, a mysterious 150m high and 50m wide figure etched into the mountainside, rumored to be an ancient guide for sailors or a fascinating link to the Nazca lines. We'll pause for fantastic photo opportunities before continuing to the world-renowned Ballestas Islands.
Here, immerse yourself in a vibrant ecosystem! Witness the spectacular sight of hundreds of playful sea lions, lounging on sun-drenched rocks or barking a lively greeting. Keep your camera ready to capture diverse and impressive seabird species, including elegant cormorants, the unique Peruvian booby, and majestic Peruvian pelicans. You might even spot adorable Humboldt penguins nesting in their small colonies! And if luck is on your side, gaze into the shimmering waters for a chance encounter with graceful dolphins. Discover the fascinating history of guano, a nitrogen-rich natural fertilizer, and learn about its historical significance to Peru.
The exhilarating return trip to Paracas offers brisk sea breezes and direct access to the dock. You'll have a chance to snap a few more photos of the friendly pelicans along the shoreline, browse for souvenirs, or grab a quick snack before continuing your Peruvian adventure.
Please note: A valid passport is required for national park entry."
