We will pick you up very early in the morning. The tour begins by visiting ‘Chaxa lagoon’, located in the northern sector of the Salar de Atacama, precisely in Los Flamencos National Reserve. On the surface of the Salar, you can observe salt crusts generated by the accumulation of crystals produced by the evaporation of saline groundwater. Later, we will take direction to the South East (Andes Mountains) to settle in an Altiplanic Village named Socaire, where you could visit its Church and know its agriculture. Once inside the Andes, you will head approximately 4200 m.a.s.l to reach the Highland Lakes, Miñiques and Miscanti. Admire volcanoes and mountainous reliefs such as the Miscanti hill and volcano Little fingerlings.Once back, you will visit Socaire village which was formerly important for its gold mines that were located near the border with Argentina. Currently is characterized by its typical atacamenian cuisine. Finally, you will visit the village of Toconao, an oasis that allows freshwater to grow all kinds of fruits and vegetables. The village is built with stone liparite, soft volcanic stone, obtained from a quarry located near it. Return to San Pedro in the afternoon. Type of service: Shared Duration: 7/8 hours. Early in the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel to visit one of the highest geyser fields in the world. Located in the Andes Mountains, 61 miles from San Pedro de Atacama and 4,320 meters above sea level, El Tatio (from Kunza "tata-iu") means "The Grandfather Who Cries." After visiting the geysers, you can enjoy a natural pool with thermal water. We will also visit Machuca, a small Atacamenian village located more than 4,000 meters above sea level, where its few inhabitants are mainly dedicated to grazing and cheese production. When we arrive in San Pedro de Atacama, we will leave you downtown, from where you will go on your own to the hotel.
