Day 1

place Arrival in Cartagena de Indias

Arrival in Cartagena de Indias, the undisputed queen of the Caribbean coast, a city of romance, legends and superbly preserved beauty lying within an impressive 13 km of centuries-old colonial stone walls. Cartagena's old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – a maze of cobbled alleys, balconies covered in bougainvillea, and massive churches that cast their shadows across the plazas. Transfer to your hotel in the historical center. Free time to enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 2

place Getsemani district walking tour and visit to a rum bar

Departure for an adventure in Getsemani district, at a stone's throw from the walled city. You will go for a walking tour in the streets of this Bohemian district to discover the food the “local” way, the real Colombian food that the Cartageneros love! Whether you are looking for a snack or something more substantial, a healthy starter or a sweet dessert, the streets of Cartagena offer everything! This is one of the best ways to get insight into the daily life and culture of the local people. The visit will allow you a more personal contact with the "Authentic Cartagena", with street vendors filling your bellies with their delights and warming your hearts with their hospitality! You will taste tropical fruits, arepas, buñuelos, chicharrones, limonada and other cocadas. (About 2-hour tour) Did you know? Rum is the favorite local drink of Colombian people. We invite you to get insight into this universe with an original rum flight! Let's meet in a small bar in Getsemani district, where the boss is waiting for you to present his collection of Colombian - and only Colombian - rums, the largest in the country! You will have the opportunity to discover flavors so different from each other, bottles marketed only in certain parts of the country and others sold only abroad! An original way to discover the history of the Colombian Rum! Notes: After the rum tasting, possibility to buy bottles of rum (limited collection or standard bottle). To see directly on the spot with the bartender. The bottles will be delivered to your hotel the next day.

Day 3

place Ceviche lesson and transfer to Santa Marta

Cartagena is also a place where the Caribbean magic is felt in the gastronomy. Today, you will learn step by step how to make a delicious ceviche accompanied by patacones and plantain crisps. The ceviche can be with mango or fish. You will also learn how to make a passion fruit lemonade, so that you can surprise all your guests back home! (1 hour.) You will enjoy a last moment in Cartagena before heading to Santa Marta, on the Caribbean Coast. Transfer to your hotel and end of the day free. Note: about 4-5 hours drive.

Day 4

place Trip to Tayrona National Park and Tayrona surroundings

In the morning, your driver will drive you to the pier located at the entrance of Tayrona Park, a small coffee break will be offered on this beautiful fishermen beach. You will embark on small lanchas (motorboats) that will take you to a beautiful beach of the park. You will cross a wild bay where turtles like to meet, with a little luck you can observe them. Furthermore, you will spend the day in Playa del Amor, a wild beach with turquoise waters and white sand. In the shade of trees you will have at your disposal chairs, a cooler with refreshments and snorkeling equipment. Possible walks with your guide on the trails along the bays, the view is spectacular. Then traditional lunch on the beach, catch of the day, coconut rice and plantain. Afternoon on the beach, back at the end of the day at the hotel. Notes: Your passport will be asked to enter the National Park, make sure to take walking shoes, comfortable clothes and bathing suits, depending on your hotel location, transport (vehicle + boat) can take between 1h and 1h15.

Day 5

place Santa Marta City Tour

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city (Bahia, historic center and its cathedral, San Francisco, Quinta San Pedro). Then, you will stop at the Hacienda San Pedro Alejandro which is a property dedicated to the famous South American liberator, Simon Bolivar. It is in this nice building that he spent his last days and died on the 17th of December 1830. Some of his personal belongings are displayed as well as a collection of portraits and sculptures created by famous artists (Alejandro Obregon, Edgar Negret). You will walk around the lovely botanical garden that holds hummingbirds, iguanas and parrots. Lunch included in a restaurant in front of the sea.

Day 6

place Visit to a honey farm and a traditional cocoa farm

In the morning, departure for the surroundings of Santa Marta to discover the Sierra Nevada. You will first visit a beautiful farm that produces honey where you will be able to taste the different products and then, relax and bathe in the property’s swimming pool. Next, you will visit a beautiful nature reserve located on ancient indigenous lands. This magical site is located in the middle of nature, between waterfalls and a beautiful botanical garden where you can observe a great variety of birds. On the way back you will enjoy a typical lunch before going for the visit of a traditional cocoa farm to learn everything about the chocolate fruit and its process. Return to your hotel late afternoon.

Day 7

place Transfer to Medellin and nightlife tour

Transfer to Santa Marta airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Medellin (not included). Arrival at Medellin and transfer to your hotel. End of the day free to enjoy the city of "eternal spring". Departure in the early evening for an original visit of the city of Medellin. Medellin is renowned for its nightlife especially in the trendy El Poblado district. You will start with a panoramic tour taking you to the viewpoint to enjoy a beautiful view of the city. You will reach a small surrounding village for a walk-up to the park to the main square. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to discover the nightlife of typical of small villages. After a tasting of traditional "piquadeos", you will return to Medellin and more precisely in the very select neighborhood of the Zona Rosa, known for its many bars and restaurants. Possibility to stay in this area for dinner or return to the hotel with your tour guide. Note: If you decide to stay in the Zona Rosa area for dinner (not included), transfer back to your hotel is not scheduled nor included. However, you can easily find taxis on the street.

Day 8

place Corn's Heritage tour

Half-day dedicated to the corn's heritage which was the main source of food for pre-Colombian tribes and civilizations. Only 45 minutes from Medellín, you'll arrive to the village of Amagá. After a walk of half an hour, you will start with the visit of an arepa factory. This product is part of the daily life of "Paisas" (people from the Medellin region). You will have the chance to learn how to make arepas following all the steps of the process, then you will be able to taste your own arepa. Afterwards, you will continue the visit with crossing the famous viaduct, on which the rails of the old railway are still present. You will also cross six tunnels on your way to finally reach another of these traditional farms. There, you will taste typical corn products, such as mazamorra or aborrajado. These snacks will be accompanied by a fresh lemonade. The visit can be made by foot or by bike (not included). 1h of walk during the day.

Day 9

place Coffee tasting and transfer to Pereira

Perched onto the hills of Medellin City, the owner of the finca Capilla Rosario will welcome you for a very special coffee tasting. You will be able to observe coffee trees and follow the roasting process. This is what influences the taste of the beverage and gives the beans its brown color. What's better than ending this tour by drinking a cup of freshly roasted coffee? You will enjoy a nice view over the valley of Medellin. Transfer to Olaya Herrera airport (Medellin national airport) for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Pereira. Note : Low cost company. Limited luggage : 15 kg per person (not included.) Welcome to the "Coffee Triangle", including the departments of Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío, which together make up the heart of the Zona Cafetera, also called the Eje Cafetero. This area is famous for growing and producing the majority of the Colombian coffee, considered by some as the best coffee in the world. Transfer to your Hacienda, a large traditional landed estate. Dive into the colorful world of the exotic fruits! Trust the advice of the expert and treat yourself to a guided fruit tasting. place Trip to the Coffee Region: Cocora Valley and Salento Village

This day will be dedicated to the discovery of typical villages and landscapes of the coffee region. You will start with a ride in a traditional “jeep Willy” within the green valley of Cocora, and then you will hike among the wax palm trees (Colombian national tree). Let's go for a walk among the avocado trees! You will have the opportunity to learn more about the cultivation of this very trendy fruit and to taste different types of avocado from their best batches. Lunch break in a beautiful traditional hacienda in the heart of Cocora Valley. In the afternoon, visit of Salento village: discovering of the local architecture and traditional constructions made of bamboo (guadua). You will learn about cooking the traditional dishes of the coffee area and will then taste them!
