Day 1

place Temuco to Quinquén

Upon arrival in Temuco airport, you will be met by our representative and escorted to Quinquén. Kelu Trufken Trail Alex, a young teacher from the community, will be our local guide in the Kelu Trufken trail. We will walk into the mountains and ancient forests of the community. Thanks to him, we will discover the daily habits of the Mapuche Pehuenche culture, the art of "piñoneo" (gathering of pine nut or Monkey Puzzle tree fruit), one of the main activity in this territory and the intense struggle history of this community for the recovery of its land. - Duration: 2:30 hours / 2 hours walk - Difficulty: Medium After the tour, you will try a delicious lunch made by the community with typical ingredients from the valley. Matetun The Mate is for the Pehuenche people a way to communicate, to connect and listen to each other through words. It is also a welcome ritual to who visit the community. You will live an unforgettable encounter with Don Crescencio, one of the sages of the community, while we enjoy mate and tortilla. This trip is also an invitation to open your senses of listening and learning! After an intense day, enjoy a dinner in the company of the local family where you will be staying.

Weaving and spinning workshop Spinning and weaving is not just about making handicraft, it is also a way to build, reflect and hold the memory of the inhabitants of a culture. It is what a lot of women do in the South of Chile. To learn a little bit more about this practice, we will participate in a spinning and weaving workshop with wool, which will be given by Guillermina, a woman of the community. The wool and fibers are completely natural. After the tour, you will try a delicious lunch made by the community with typical ingredients from the valley. This afternoon will be free for you to enjoy at your own pace. * Ask for optional activities. After an intense day, enjoy a dinner in the company of the local family where you will be staying.

Day 4

place Quinquén to Temuco

Lifkan Mahuida Trail As a great final, Joaquin, a craftsman from Picoyo and local guide, will take us on a hike into the holy forest which he respects, loves and takes care so much. Through the trail, the forest invites us to awaken all of our senses to listen to birds, to smell the flours and plants, to feel the peace and quietness and if you are lucky, to watch a puma. With all the senses opened, we will finally reach the peak of the hill where we will enjoy impressive views of volcanoes, the best landscape to leave this beautiful community. - Duration: 5 hours / 4 hours walk - Difficulty: Medium After the tour, you will try a delicious lunch made by the community with typical ingredients from the valley.
