Day 2

place Half Day Tour: Navigation Magdalena Island

Early in the morning we start with this unparalleled adventure, after checking in, we head to Laredo Bay to board speedboats. This excursion begins through the waters of the mythical Strait, sailing the same route made by the brave explorers of the end of the world, such as, Sir Francis Drake, Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa, Hernando de Magallanes and Charles Darwin, among others. The natural riches of this island invite us to admire an impressive spectacle of wild life. Magdalena Island was declared a National Park in August 1966 and re-classified as natural monument in 1982. We navigate 45 minutes to Magdalena Island, where we stay for 1 hour with our guide to know the natural hábitat. Depending on the luck we will be able to see Austral Dolphins and Toninas Overa. To protect wild life, Marta Island is only circumnavigated to admire and photograph the Colony and the diversity of marine birds that live there. However in Magdalena Island it is possible to disembark for about one hour, to walk and to interact with the colony. We continue our tour to the lighthouse, from where we will have a great panoramic view of the island and surrounding areas. Return to your hotel in Punta Arenas. Due to weather conditions variation, itineraries and navigations may be changed, rescheduled or suspended. Overnight @ Hotel Cabo de Hornos

Day 3

place Half Day City Tour of Punta Arenas

Breakfast @ hotel. In due time, pick up at your hotel to start the City Tour around Punta Arenas which is an unmissable experience. We will visit the main landmarks and attractions, which marked the development of the city, from its foundation to the current times. In its beginnings, Punta Arenas was linked to the development of the coal industry and the supply of ships, which crossed the Strait of Magellan. The second stage in the development of the city was mainly associated to the rise of cattle ranching with the introduction of sheep brought from the Falkland Islands or Malvinas, which forged a great economic development, known as the “White Gold Era”. A legacy of those times ican be seen until today in the historic center of Punta Arenas, the architecture around the Plaza de Armas, where large palaces stand out with exuberant exterior decorative details and fine interior decoration. We end the visit with panoramic views of the city, to see the post modernism and current urban and social development of Punta Arenas. Return to the hotel. Overnight @ Hotel Cabo de Hornos

Day 4

place Whales, Penguins and Glaciers: The Sub-Antarctic Experience

Early in the morning we start with this amazing adventure. After checking in at the office in the centre, we head to Punta Carrera (60 km away from Punta Arenas) to navigate up to Cape Froward, the most southern point of our continental world, glaciers, humpback whales, Sei whales, Piebald dolphins, Commerson’s dolphins and the Magellan Penguin are part of the natural wonders of the Austral region of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego Island. One of the most remote and pristine places of the planet, this full-day journey will make us feel the wildness of nature at its full. Starting early in the morning, we will go by bus to our boarding place located at 50 km south of Punta Arenas, from there we will sail for about 10 hours. An incredible adventure where we will be witness of a unique landscape surrounded by mountains, glaciers, Lenga and Coihue forests. In addition, marine fauna will amaze us by its proximity and abundance: sea lions, petrels, cormorants, austral dolphins, among others, will make us feel and truly experience nature. Our itinerary considers: Departure from Punta Carrera or Punta Santa Ana, which is a promontory in which the historical site Bulnes Fort is located; San Isidro Lighthouse, a stop to leave passengers at Froward Base Camp, Cape Froward, Rupert Island, Paso Ingles, Paso Shag, Seno Helado and return to Punta Carrera.
