Day of sightseeing in Salvador with an English-speaking guide: • Visit of the « Upper Town »: the « old » Salvador, at the center of the city, where slaves used to be disciplined and now the heart of Bahia’s Carnaval. Walk through the picturesque alleys, the Church of San Francisco and the “Pelourinho” (central square of the city – cultural heritage by UNESCO), exploring the cultural aspects of Bahia and its traditions. • Visit of the « Lower City »: the modern part of the city with its natural and architectural contrasts. The tour includes the Church of Bonfim, the São Joaquim Market and the Lacerda Elevator.

place Visits at the Chapada Diamantina

• Visit of the Pantanal Marimbús and Roncador River: departure of Lençóis in 4×4 towards “Vila Remanso”; there, board on to a boat to row down the river Santo Antonio and cross over the Marimbús, the “Pantanal” of the Chapada, natural habitat of several species of birds. Then, short walk to the river and bath in the “Roncador” ’s natural swimming pools.

Visits of the “Cachoeira da Fumaça” and “Riachinho”: the spectacular “Waterfall of Smoke”, the largest waterfall of Brazil, located near the Mystic “Vale do Capão”. 4 hours of average difficulty hike on the highest plateaus allow discovering the beauty of the great wild spaces, insectivorous plants and the magnificent “Cachoeira da Fumaça” (Waterfall of Smoke). Picnic on the edge of the river and observation of the local wildlife. Waterfall bath in the river of Riachinho.

In the morning, visits of São Luis with an English-speaking guide: • Walk through the Center: private walking tour through the historical centre of São Luis. Through the streets of the old part of the city, old houses from the 18th and 19th centuries show the legacy of Portuguese colonial. In the afternoon, private transfer to Barreirinhas, gateway of the “Lençóis Maranhenses”.

Day of sightseeing of the “Lençóis Maranhenses” with an English-speaking guide: One of the most beautiful natural parks of Brazil and one of the most beautiful destinations in the country, with an unique and surreal landscape. This paradise is formed by several kilometers of sand dunes cut by hundreds of crystal clear water ponds full of fish and small crustaceans. • Lençóis Maranhenses National Park – Lagoa Bonita (Beautiful Pond): in 4×4, transfer to the foot of the dunes. Then, short walk to the “Lagoa Bonita” to observe the magnificent landscape and enjoy a relaxing bath in the pond.

Day 12

place Visit of the « Rio Preguiças »

Day of sightseeing of the « Rio Preguiças » (Lazy River) and region: • « Rio Preguiças » in « voadeira » (small boat): board into a small motorboat to go through the “Rio Preguiças” up until the ocean. The landscape begins by a large mangrove forest on both sides of the River, to then give way to the dunes. Between these two scenarios, the diversity of vegetation can be admired up close. Three stops are planned along the way. The first on “Vassouras”, the second in “Mandacaru”, then and finally in “Caburé”, where you can enjoy the landscapes and practice some activities such as ATV and stand up paddle.

place From Barreirinhas to Parnaíba

Private transfer in 4×4 of Barreirinhas until Tutóia by the beach and dunes, passing by Paulino Neves. In the port of Tutóia, boarding on a small motorboat across the Delta of Parnaíba. Formed by 85 islands in an area of 2700km², the “Delta das Américas”, is rare phenomenon of nature also found in Africa and Asia.
