In the evening, you join a local guide for a walking tour of Sofia by night, exploring the city’s illuminated streets and notable landmarks. Day 2: Vitosha and Plovdiv | Mountain Hike and Cultural Exploration
After breakfast, you set out for a hike in the Vitosha mountains, reaching Black Peak and taking in the panoramic scenery. On your descent, you visit Dragalevtsi Monastery, a distinctive religious site in Bulgaria. Following a late check-out from your hotel, you transfer to Plovdiv, known as the European Capital of Culture for 2019. Upon arrival, you join a walking tour of Plovdiv’s historic center. The evening offers free time for dinner, with options available in the Trap area or at other recommended restaurants.
Plovdiv is recognized as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe, with a rich blend of Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman heritage.

Day 3: Plovdiv Hills | Retro Museum and Leisure
After breakfast, you spend the morning exploring the hills of Plovdiv, taking in views of the city’s layered architecture and ancient sites. Later, you visit the retro museum in Peshtera, where you can see exhibits reflecting Bulgaria’s recent past. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure, giving you the flexibility to explore more of Plovdiv or relax as you choose.

Day 4: Sliven and Karandila | Rose Valley and Wine Experience
After breakfast, you depart for the Valley of Roses and the Thracian Kings, where you visit the largest private rose oil distillery in Bulgaria. Continuing your journey, you travel to Karandila Mountain and ride one of the few working open chair lifts in the country, enjoying expansive mountain views. The day concludes at a boutique hotel with a winery in the Thracian Valley, where you participate in a wine tasting paired with dinner.
The Valley of Roses is world-famous for its rose oil production, a tradition that has shaped Bulgarian culture and economy for centuries.
