Begin your exploration at the Bund, a world-famous waterfront area on the west bank of the Huangpu River lined with more than 20 colonial trading buildings that contrast with the futuristic skyscrapers across the river. Guilin, Day Excursion to Longji Terraced Rice Fields
A day trip to the Longji Rice Terraces, about 2.5 hours' drive from Guilin, is worthwhile. It is an incredible farm engineering marvel built by the Zhuang and Yao ethnic minorities over 650 years ago. From late April to mid-June, you can see the mirror-like watery fields with locals farming inside them; while from mid-June to mid-October, you may marvel at the magnificent view of green or yellow rice plants filling the terraces.

Guilin - Yangshuo, Li River Cruise
A 4-hour Li River cruise departing from Zhujiang Pier today will take you into an idyllic Chinese landscape painting of snaking emerald water, verdant towering hills, swaying bamboo groves, and floating boats. After lunch onboard, disembark in Yangshuo and pass through the West Street lined night pubs, stylish stores, and restaurants to your hotel on foot or by car. In the afternoon, take a countryside tour and enjoy the scenery from non-touristy perspectives, either by sightseeing car or bicycle.

After breakfast, drive back to Guilin for about 1.5 hours to catch your flight to Chengdu. Upon touchdown, meet your tour guide and proceed to your hotel for check-in. Later, follow the guide to experiencing Chengdu's slow-paced lifestyle. You will walk around the best-preserved Wenshu Temple, relax in a teahouse with a cup of tea and pastries, and stroll along Kuanzhai Alley or Jinli Old Street with chances to try local food.

Chengdu, Get Close to Cute Pandas
In Chengdu, home of China's magnificent giant pandas, one must do is visiting the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda. We recommend starting early because these adorable creatures are more active between 8:00 and 10:00 am. In the afternoon, visit the Jinsha Site Museum to learn about the ancient civilization that flourished in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River from the 12th to the 7th centuries BC. The tour includes a Jinsha 4D film, which tells the story of the land over 3,000 years ago. At the end of the tour, spend some time walking around Sichuan University.

Chengdu - Lhasa
Your tour guide will accompany you to the airport this morning to catch your flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, take a private transfer to your Lhasa hotel, about an hour away. Check in and have the rest of the day relax in the hotel to get adapted to the high altitude.

Begin your exploration at the Potala Palace, the landmark in Lhasa impossible to miss. This dzong fortress, originally built in the 7th century on Red Hill at an elevation of 3,750 meters above sea level, will show you the unique Tibetan culture through its architecture, murals, and exquisite Tangkas. Later, experience Tibetan religious beliefs at the Jokhang Temple, which is always crowded with pilgrims. The Barkhor Street that surrounds the temple has been a holy ritual walk path for pilgrims for almost 1,400 years and is now a popular tourist destination.

Today's excursion will take you to Norbulingka Park, a precious garden with the most beautiful scenery and the largest number of historic relics. After leaving the park, you will continue to the Drepung Monastery to admire its unique architecture and magnificent structures. It is one of the largest monasteries in the world with a population of over 10,000 monks during its heyday. Before returning to the hotel, head to the Sera Monastery to observe the local monks debating Buddhist knowledge with exaggerated gestures.

Xi'an, Marvel at Terracotta Warriors
Meet the Terracotta Warriors today to marvel at the mighty army of Qing Shi Huang, the first emperor who unified ancient China in 221BC. These life-sized clay soldiers were all handcrafted without the use of advanced tools and guarded the tomb of Qing Shi Huang until it was discovered in 1974. You will then go to the Xi'an Are Ceramic Factory to learn how to make terracotta soldiers, horses, and chariots. Afterward, return to the city for about an hour and spend some time wandering around the Muslim Quarter, with chances to try local street food. The Great Mosque in this area is worth a visit for its fusion of Chinese culture and Islamic cultures.
