Today, after breakfast, you will meet your private driver who will take you to your next fabulous accommodation: one local country-house. During the journey you will admire magnificent landscapes of the Tuscan hills and many vineyards until you reach your accommodation. Villa Fontelunga has a spectacular view of the countryside towards the hill town of Cortona. The Villa is set within an estate of 200 olive trees. The terrace to the rear of the main building allows you to enjoy the Villa's spectacular view across the Val di Chiana, where breakfast (included) and lunch are served daily. Today you will have free time to relax or I suggest you to explore the villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano. Montalcino It’s a beautiful village immersed in the breathtaking Val d'Orcia Natural Park, renowned for the production of its precious Brunello red wine one of the world's best and most appreciated Italian wines. The town has scarcely changed in appearance since the 16th century. Once you get up to the town, a magnificent spectacle unfolds for your eyes: rolling sunny hills dotted with yellow and red flowers, ancient oak trees, picturesque olive groves, scenic country roads winding through perfect vineyards and isolated cypress trees atop hills. The streets of Montalcino with their stone pavements are truly enchanting and the village is a wonderful place to stroll around among the labyrinth of charming arts and crafts shops, cafes, restaurants and wine bars. Take some time to fully enjoy the special medieval atmosphere of this magnificent Tuscan hilltop town. Walk slowly through its narrow and characteristic alleys offering extraordinary views over the underlying valley, and then sit and relax while tasting a glass of the delicious red wine.Later I suggest you to visit Montepulciano. It is a medieval town of rare beauty highly recommended. Today after breakfast, you will meet your private English-speaking driver who willaccompany you to Florence train station where you will catch the train to Bologna. Upon your arrival another private driver will pick you up from the train station and accompany you to your centrally located hotel. BOLOGNA is the epicurean capital of central-north Italy. It is also known as “la dotta, la rossa e la grassa” – for its university, Europe's oldest; the terracotta color of its buildings; and most importantly, for its delicious food. Even by Italy's notoriously high standards, Bologna is a culinary hub. The food markets of Bologna are among the best in the country: stroll the stalls in the Quadrilatero or the centuries-old labyrinth of streets south of Via Rizzoli.For slow food, head to the weekly "Mercato delle Terre" where more than 40 vendors offer everything from artisanal cheeses to cooking demonstrations. For lunch, go to the trendy Via del Pratello and the student area near Via Zamboni has plenty of options for a lively aperitif and excellent dinner.

place DAY 12 – PARMA WALKING TOUR AND VISIT LOCAL PROSCIUTTO and ZIBELLO FACTORY

Local superb food products, like Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and Prosciutto di Parma in the morning and a relaxing and interesting city walk to discover this “Petite Paris”. In the middle a full lunch to let you understand why Parma’s kitchen is considered one of the richest in whole Italy (lunch optional). With this tour in the morning you can visit local producer, working hard everyday to keep this tradition alive and to sell their creations on the market, guided by a skilled guide to discover where quality stands. In the afternoon, a relaxing and digestive (!!!) walk downtown let you discover the deep connections between history, traditions and character of Parma habitants. Parma is the capital of Italian Food Valley, an area where quality and tradition related to food and wine production (and consumption) in centuries have shaped the land, have capitalized the common taste of the inhabitants. Take the train and at the Ravenna train station you will meet your guide for a walking tour in this city full of enchanting mosaics! Ravenna is one of the most important cities of art, with an extraordinary historic, cultural and artistic heritage and a glorious past. It was the seat of the Roman Empire in the 5th century, of Theodoric King of the Goths in the 6th century and then of Byzantine Italy until the 8th century. The magnificence of this period has left Ravenna with a great heritage of historical buildings and a unique collection of early Christian mosaics and monuments. 7 of the 8 Unesco World Heritage Sites of Ravenna province are located in the city of Ravenna and they were all built and decorated in the 5th and 6th centuries showing great artistic skill, including a wonderful blend of Graeco-Roman tradition, Christian iconography and oriental and Western styles. Explore Ravenna, the city where Dante chose his last refuge, Boccaccio set a beautiful novel, Lord Byron lived his longest relationship, Gustav Klimt drew obvious inspiration, Hermann Hesse wrote some verses and Oscar Wilde was inspired, whoever sees Ravenna falls in love with it today just as it happened in the past. At the end of the day you will take the train to come back to Bologna.
