Suggested itinerary: - Visit the Museum of Chocolate, specialty of the city. Enjoy an exquisite coffee break in one of the best chocolate shops of the city (Mamuschka, Rapa Nui ...). - Walk on the Avenue Bustillo and 12 de Octubre to enjoy the view of the Nahuel Huapi Lake and of the many mountain ranges in the background.

  • Mid-range accomodation: Península Petit Hotel
Day 2

place LLao Llao Peninsula- Cerro Campanario- Mascardi Lake

Suggested itinerary: Explore the natural surroundings. This 65km route skirts the Nahuel Huapi Lake and drives through important landmarks, such as El Trebol Lagoon, Moreno West and East Lake... Stop along several panoramic points along the road to watch the wonderful views. In front of Pañuelo Port, the luxurious Hotel Llao Llao and San Eduardo Chapel benefit from an incredible location. Stop by Cerro Campanario : take a chairlift to the top to admire one of Bariloche's best view over the lakes and summits. End your excursion with a nice walk in the woods of the Municipal Llao Llao Reserve - and try to spot the intense red crest of the local woodpeckers! You then take the ruta 40 skirting the Gutierrez and then Mascardi Lakes. Drive for about 35 Km from Bariloche, to reach the start of the Tronador route. From the comfortable Hotel Mascardi Park Lodge, you can pick some activities to explore the surrounding nature of the Nahuel Huapi National Park: free hikes to the Guillelmo Lake or Laguna Juventus; rent a kayak or stand-up paddle to navigate along the coast...

Day 3

place Mascardi Lake - Cerro Tronador

Suggested itinerary: Head off for a one-day tour to discover Mount Tronador (3,478masl), one of the highest mountains in this region. Enter the Nahuel Huapi National Park and skirt the black sand beach. After 9km (5.5mi) on a dirt track, you reach the Rapids of the Manso River, a famous fly-fishing spot, where you can easily spot some trouts. Continue your long journey, stopping on the way at the Piuke Huapi viewpoint overlooking a heart shaped island. Drive on until you reach Pampa Linda, at the feet of snowy Mount Tronador. This is the starting point for many hikes and climbs to the mountain. Have lunch in a local hosteria (not included) before driving on to the Ventisquero Negro – a black glacier coming down from Tronador and Garganta del Diablo - a beautiful waterfall.

Nestled at the foot of the Piltriquitron Hill in a deep valley of glacial origin at 300 metres above sea level, El Bolson benefits from the Quemquemtreu and Azul rivers. In this fertile land, many farms work on organic or small-scale production. Take the opportunity to discover the production sites, talk with your hosts while enjoying a healthy lunch, tasting cheeses and homemade ice cream, fine seasonal fruits and smoked products. Lunch at the farm.

Back on the road, drive south to have lunch on the Butch Cassidy territory, close to Cholila (not included). You then reach the Los Alerces National Park, one Patagonia's most protected and less visited, with majestic landscapes. Esmerald green waters and thousand-years-old trees make a strong impression. Night at the Hostería Andina in standard room.

Day 6

place The Welsh Route - Trevelin - Esquel

Suggested Itinerary: Follow the "Welsh Route" near Trevelin, founded by Welsh settlers in the 19th century, where the Celtic atmosphere and culture still prevail. The Nant and Fall Waterfalls are a nice option for a 45 minutes walk in a beautiful natural environment, where La Petisa, Las Mellizas and Salto Grande stand out. Near the waterfalls, you can visit the Nant and Fall vineyards, an rare sight in Patagonia's rough climate! Today, Nant y Fall is one of the most innovative wineries in Argentina. A gateway to the Welsh Cordilleran past is the Nant and Fach Mill. Accompanied by Mervyn and thanks to the marvellous replica of the flour mills, you will relive the era of the late 19th century when the mills worked with wheat from the whole region to supply flour on a great scale and more particularly to the tea houses in Trevelin. It also has a very interesting collection of antiques brought by the Welsh settlers. It's tea time!
