Trip Snapshot
Arusha City The city of Arusha is Tanzania’s safari capital. It is likely to be the start of your adventure to the most famous national parks of Tanzania. Dramatically set below Mount Meru, it has a real frontier atmosphere, with its chaotic roads lined with colorful little local shops.. Like many towns in East Africa, Arusha is a mix of old buildings left over from the colonial era alongside an increasing number of modern and contemporary buildings. It features a myriad of interesting shops, bustling markets, exciting cultural events, vibrant night life and many bars and restaurants, providing plenty of fun experiences for travelers to Arusha. The semi-rural districts around the town include some lovely accommodation options, especially amongst the coffee plantations. Explore villages and farms on foot, visit the town and its busy central market, or just lie by the pool, catch up on some sleep and start a good book. Usa River Lush, beautiful, and overlooked by Mount Meru, Usa River is located about half an hour's drive from bustling Arusha, amongst coffee plantations, banana groves, and gently flowing rivers. Usa is home to many foreign organizations, making it an interesting place to observe the development work being done in Tanzania, and providing a quiet, safe location for residents and tourists alike.
