Antiquity and Adventurers Private Tour
Our driver will pick you up at 09:30 AM from your villa If you’ve come to Crete seeking adventure, then this tour is perfect for you! Tap into your inner Indiana Jones as you explore a Cretan village, trek a gorge or discover a unique remote location by a private boat, wander through an ancient city, drink ‘healing water,’ swim in a turquoise sea, and savor home-cooked local dishes! It’ll be an adventure of a lifetime that only requires a positive attitude and an open mind! Get out of town and work your way down the road less travelled to the southern coast of Crete. You’ll meet your tour guide in Chania, and our tour will begin with a two-hour ride that will take us to a seaside village unknown to mass tourism. Upon reaching this small, sleepy village by the sea, we’ll start our adventure off by fuelling up on a light, organic breakfast made with local products. After the olives, rusks, and cheese have quickly been devoured, we’ll head off to the ancient city of Lissos. We’ll walk in the shade of old pine trees on an easy trail before slowly trekking up a hill that will offer breathtaking views of the gorge beneath us and the turquoise sea in the distance. When the trees disappear and a barren plateau appears, the rocks will meet the blue sea, and we’ll see the ruins of the ancient Asclepieion. This healing temple was dedicated to the god Asclepius, and was built in the third century B.C.E. We’ll also point out the herbs and flora that are used in the Cretan diet. While this walk is fairly easy and follows a trail, please note that it will take approximately 90 minutes with stops, with elevations of 250 metres up, and almost 400 metres down.

Spend a day on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Balos beach! The famous lagoon of Balos, is located approximately 56km northwest of Chania, formed between the Cape Gramvousa and the small Cape Tigani. Balos is surely the most photographed beaches in Crete, a very favorite subject of all tourist guides for Greece. It is no coincidence that Prince Charles and Princess Diana visited Balos with their private yacht many years ago. Balos is famous for its turquoise waters, the wild natural beauty, and the beautiful exotic scenery. The lagoon of Balos has white sand and exotic white, vivid blue and turquoise waters. The sea is very shallow and warm, ideal for young children. In many places, the sand has a lovely pinkish color, because of millions of crushed shells. Beyond the rocks at the boundaries of the lagoon, the water is deeper and colder, ideal for snorkeling. The lagoon and the wider area, with rare species of flora and fauna, are protected under the Natura 2000 program. Eleonora falcons, shags and cormorants nest in the caves of the area. Moreover, the area is a shelter for the protected monk seal and the loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta). There are many ways to visit Balos but we will do it with style and away from mass tourism. We will pick you up with our minivan and transfer you to Chania old port to board your yacht. It is a Dufin with length 17.5m After getting back to Chania enjoy a Free evening. Our company provides a city guide with “tested by us” tips and suggestions.
