Day 2

place Warsaw

All day private sightseeing of Warsaw with dirver-guide. This city tour will highlight the contrasts of the capital city of Poland. The tour starts with a walk around the Lazienki Royal Park. Here we will see the famous monument of Frederic Chopin, the Palace on the Island and the Royal Theatre. We will continue along the Royal Route to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Saxon Garden, the Grand Theatre and the National Opera, the Jablonowscy Palace. We will also visit the former Jewish getto area and the places related to the Holocaust during the Second World War like Umschlagplatz and the Monument of the Heroes of the Ghetto. Later we will proceed to the Old Town (UNESCO) where we take a short walk from the Royal Castle, past St John’s Cathedral, through the Market Square and the barbican on to the New Town. We will see the Krasinski Palace and the Supreme Court building, followed. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Warsaw.

In the morning transfer from Warsaw to Gdansk by train (3 h). Transfer to the hotel & check in. Free afternoon. Overnight in Gdansk.

place Gdansk – Gdynia – Sopot - Gdansk

All day Tricity tour. In the morning, we will visit the Old Town of Gdansk. The charm of Old Town Gdansk attracts millions of tourists each year. We will start by taking a walk down Długa Street, which is one of the most beautiful European markets that is nestled around a dazzling selection of renaissance buildings. It leaves from the Golden Gate and passes by the Town Hall, Neptune fountain, Arthur's Court and finishes by the Green Gate overlooking the Motława River. The tour continues to the Old Crane, which happens to be one of the most popular symbols of the city. Next we will visit the church of St Mary, Europe's biggest gothic brick church. Further transfer to Oliwa Cathedral – home to a stunning pipe organ renowned for its rococco visionary design and a magnificent sound. Our next point is the Gdynia harbor. Here we will see the iconic sail ship "Dar Pomorza". Afterwards we will visit Sopot, a charming beach resort boasting the largest wooden pier in Europe Return to the hotel. Evening at leisure. Transfer back to the hotel in Gdansk & overnight.

Transfer by car from Gdansk to Malbork Castle, the medieval capital of the Teutonic Knights’ Order in Eastern Europe. A guided visit to the biggest red brick gothic castle in the world (UNESCO Heritage) is a chance to admire beautiful architecture, explore the mysterious corridors of the Medieval fortress, see the collection of arms and equipment and learn about everyday life of the Knights. Continue to Torun. Check in to the hotel & overnight

In the morning private sightseeing of Torun – a picturesque medieval gothic town (UNESCO Heritage) and a birthplace of the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. Visit his housemuseum and the Cathedral with a bell tower offering splendid views over the city. Sample the delicious gingerbread biscuits the town is famous for, made according to XVI century recipes. In the afternoon Gingerbread baking workshops. Make it yourself – take part in an unique Gingerbread workshops! You can’t leave Torun without trying the local sweetness – the Gingerbread. There are numerous shops offering various kind of Gingerbread, but there is only one place, where you can bake it on your own – the Living Museum of Gingerbread! The museum magically takes you to the Medieval times. Here you can learn about every ritual connected with baking gingerbread. It all takes place under the watchful eyes of Gingerbread Master and charming Gingerbread Witch. The visitors prepare dough by themselves and then bake the specialties of Torun in traditional wooden molds. Smacznego! Overnight in Torun.

In the morning transfer from Torun to Poznan by train (1,5 h). Transfer to the hotel & check in. In the afternoon private sightseeing of Poznan. The tour starts from a visit to the gothic Cathedral on the Ostrow Tumski island, place of baptism of Poland in 966. Passing the Chrobry Bridge, we enter the splendid Old Town famous for the renaissance Town Hall dominating over the Market Square. Stroll along charming streets to discover the impressive baroque church and the Franciscan Church with a miniature model of medieval Poznan. Further, walk to the Freedom Square surrounded by 19th century historical buildings: National Museum, Raczynski Library, Bazar Hotel and Arcadia. Afternoon free to your leisure. Overnight in Poznan.

place Poznan to Wroclaw

In the morning transfer from Poznan to Wroclaw by train (2,5 h). Check-in to the hotel. In the afternoon private sightseeing of Wroclaw - the city of 100 bridges. Its rich history and medieval character attracts millions of tourists every year. The sightseeing starts by the main entrance of the 13th century Cathedral of St. John the Baptist located on Ostrow Tumski island - the oldest part of Wroclaw. Walking along Odra river bank, we ascend the “Polish Hill” offering the splendid view over the city. Nearby there is the Panorama of the Battle of Raclawice Museum presenting one of the biggest 360o panoramic battle scenes in the world, nowadays one of the nation’s symbol. The next pearl on our route is Aula Leopoldina – representative baroque hall at the Wroclaw University. Stroll around medieval cobblestone streets leads to the Market Square, one of the largest in Europe, surrounded by old tenement houses with the gothic Town Hall in the centre. Overnight in Wroclaw

In the morning transfer from Wroclaw to Krakow by train (3,5 h). Check-in to the hotel. In the afternoon private sightseeing of Krakow. In the past Krakow was the country’s capital. Today the city is called “The Cultural Capital of Poland” with Old Town listed as UNESCO Heritage. During the tour you would see Barbican and defensive walls with Florian's Gate, the Main Market Square with Sukiennice Cloth Hall, St Mary's Church and Town Hall Tower. We will proceed to the Jagiellonian University, pass by Archbishop Palace (where John Paul II used to live) as well as St Andrew's Church and St Peter and Paul's Church to reach the Wawel Hill. Overnight in Krakow.

place Krakow – Auschwitz – Wieliczka - Krakow

In the morning transfer from Krakow to Auschwitz. All over the world, AuschwitzBirkenau Concentration Camp has become a symbol of Anti-Semitism, genocide, and the Holocaust. It was established by the Nazis in 1940 in the suburbs of the city of Oswiecim, “Auschwitz” in German. Like other parts of Poland, Oswiecim was also occupied by the Nazis during the Second World War. Though we will never really know the exact numbers, experts estimate that 1.1 million people lost their lives in this murderous structure. A visit to the concentration and extermination camp museum might help you to understand what is incomprehensible and pay your respects to those who were murdered during this tragic period of history. After lunch break, continue to the Salt Mine in Wieliczka, the most beautiful and the oldest operating salt mine in the world (UNESCO Heritage). From over 700 years it was a source of Polish fortune and a physical fundament of culture. Today Wieliczka is the most willingly visited Polish tourist object with magnificent chapels, charming underground lakes and original tools and equipment. During this tour you could see a number of excavated chambers on 3 levels adorned with beautiful sculptures made of salt as well as a salt museum. Transfer back to Krakow & overnight.
