Day 1

place Arrival in South Africa

Arrival at Johannesburg International Airport according to your booked flight schedule. After your luggage, you will be welcomed by our representative and assistance. Delivery of travel documents. Then transfer to the guest house. Lunch at your own charge. Start your trip with a guided tour of Johannesburg known as the known as the Golden City. Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to visit the Apartheid Museum (optional). Entirely dedicated to South Africa's dark period, it has become in a very short time a a must-see in the country. This comprehensive and moving museum explains the difficulties faced by the different communities during the Apartheid era. Dinner. Overnight at Melrose Place Guest House or similar.

Day 2

place Soweto Visit

Breakfast. Guided tour of Soweto. Share this unique moment with the local population and discover the most famous suburb of the apartheid history. Local lunch. Walk down Vilakazi Street, the only street in the world to have been home to two Nobel Peace Prize winners: Nelson Mandela, the former President of South Africa and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Enter Nelson Mandela's former home and view some of his relics. Opportunity to meet one of our partner organisations. Dinner. Overnight at Melrose Place Guest House or similar.

Day 3

place The Blyde River Canyon

Breakfast. We will the continue to the Mpumalanga region. Drive along the scenic route and explore the different panoramas that this famous South African road offers. The Blyde River canyon, the 3rd largest canyon in the world, can be seen from all angles. Stop at the impressive waterfalls such as Lone Creek, Bridal Veil, Mac Mac pools and Falls which will put you in the best conditions to start your immersion in the north of the country. Picnic lunch on the way. Stroll through Pilgrim's Rest, a former mining village with restored late 19th century homes. Drive up the scenic route to your accommodation. Dinner. Overnight at Zur Alten Mine Lodge or similar.

Day 4

place The scenic route between Mpumalanga and Limpopo

Breakfast. Take time to admire the natural wonders that are all around you. Head back north and start the day with a leisurely stroll around the Berlin and Lisbon waterfalls. You will also be able to explore the local markets and see the local crafts. Visit the highlights of the famous Panoramic Route such as God's Window, Wonder View and The Pinnacle Rock which offer spectacular views of the area. The Three Rondavels, a rocky massif reminiscent of an African hut, sits atop a canyon wall. Lunch on the way. Appointment at Bourke's Luck Potholes, also called "giant's pots" or "witches' cauldrons" which demonstrate the power of water. Dinner. Overnight at Zur Alten Mine Lodge or similar.

Day 5

place Local Immersion

Breakfast and let's go for your immersion. Meet in Hoedspruit where you will be eagerly awaited by Donald. He will drive you to his native village where you will experience a total South African immersion. Donald will make you discover his village so don't hesitate to be curious and ask all the questions that come to your mind. Take advantage of this moment to share and exchange with the inhabitants of the village. Live this unique experience that will allow you to discover South Africa as it really is. All meals are included (breakfast, lunch, local dinner) except drinks. Accommodation with local people.

Day 6

Breakfast. The discovery in all simplicity and the sharing define the solidarity trip that awaits you on the spot. Enjoy this unique day surrounded by villagers and their families. Depending on the day's program, let yourself be guided by the local festivities or discover the local customs and traditions. Don't be afraid to pitch in, on the contrary, seize the opportunity offered to you to try things that you don't know. You will not be disappointed by the joy of living and the authenticity that reign on this village. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7

place South African authenticity

Breakfast. Last day in immersion, enjoy these last moments with your hosts. On the program : possibility to ride horses, to visit a school or to attend a traditional event if it takes place (wedding, etc...). Be comfortable and follow the movement. Why not learn to weave a mat? You will taste the richness of the local cooking and smell the sweet and smoky bonfires that burn every night. Enjoy these special moments discussing culture, politics and any other facet of the daily life of our people. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8

place Meeting with Daktari - the full size Kruger Park

Breakfast. Say goodbye to your hosts and leave early in your vehicle to visit the Daktari Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage to see the animals, the young people and the local staff. They will introduce you to the camp and explain the role Daktari has in the local community. You will then go south to the Kruger National Park. It is one of the most famous parks in the world and is half the size of Holland. Lunch on the way. Departure for a safari in your vehicle. Be prepared to see the remarkable Big Five: buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhino, as well as other impressive and remarkable wildlife: giraffe, crocodile, hippo, warthog, zebra. Dinner and overnight at the Royal Kruger Lodge or similar.

As soon as the sun rises, you will leave for a morning safari in your vehicle. You will be able to observe the density of the fauna and flora present in this emblematic park. The Kruger park offers a unique wildlife experience, getting up close and personal with the animals, leaving you with lasting memories. Breakfast on the way. The wildlife experience continues until your return to the lodge. Lunch at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Royal Kruger Lodge or similar.
