Welcome to La Paz!
Welcome to Bolivia! On your arrival in La Paz we'll meet you at El Alto International Airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Since we are located at 3600 meters above sea level, we recommend you to take it easy today as acclimatization is essential to enjoy the activities during the coming days.
Accommodation:
La Paz City Tour
Today, we will go on a city tour around the central neighborhood in La Paz. We will pass through the famous Witches' Market where you can learn about medicinal herbs and spiritual and magic artifacts. Later we will visit the San Francisco Cathedral and continue on to the city’s main square, known as Plaza Murillo. Then we will take the cable car system where you can observe the city from the center to the south part of the city. We will visit the southern neighborhoods, including Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) which is known for its fascinating, moon-like landscape. After the tour, you will return to the hotel and have the rest of the evening to explore the city, shop for souvenirs, and have a nice dinner.

Death Road Mountain Bike to Coroico
Are you ready to cycle on the World's Most Dangerous Road? Actually, it is much less dangerous than before as very few cars use it nowadays. Today we head out of La Paz en route to the Yungas Cloud Forest region. We will begin our descent at the highest point of our adventure, at La Cumbre (4300 masl), where we set off on mountain bikes with all the protection necessary to the humid cloud forest region known as Los Yungas. You will (very safely!) descend from the cordillera along the so-called "Death Road" toward Coroico, the provincial capital of North Yungas. After having a typical lunch and some time to enjoy the pool, we'll go to the provincial capital of Coroico for check-in at the hotel.

Experience the culture of Tocaña Community
After breakfast, we will go to Tocaña, an Afro-Bolivian community where most of the residents are coca leaf farmers. The coca leaf is one of the Yungas region's most important crops, and while it is known internationally as an ingredient of cocaine, the leaf has many other uses and is an integral part of Bolivian culture. On this special visit to Tocaña, you'll meet with farmers and learn about local culture, music, foods, and nature. After lunch, we will return to your hotel in La Paz.

La Paz - Rurrenabaque & Madidi National Park
Today, the driver will transfer you to the airport for a 45-minutes flight to the heart of Bolivia's Amazon rainforest. We land in Rurrenabaque and after a quick stop for a briefing and any last-minute preparations, we'll take a motorized canoe up the Tuichi river before enteringMadidi National Park, one of the planet's most biologically diverse places. We will arrive at our eco-lodge by noon where our local guide will help us to find accommodation in the community lodges part of an indigenous community-based tourism project. After a delicious lunch and a refreshing tropical juice, we'll begin learning about the flora and fauna of Madidi on a hike for about two to three hours into the jungle. Once back at the community you’ll have time for rest before dinner at the lodge. Afterward, you have the rest of the evening to relax and have a chat with members of the community-based tourism project.

Biodiversity Observation in Madidi National Park
We will wake up early today to listen to bird songs, insect calls, and even the occasional monkey call. We’ll have breakfast at 7:00 am before taking another hike, this time to a local birding spot known for resident populations of parrots, macaws, and other species. Along the way, we will hike through the rainforest and learn from our local guides about the use of plants and animals as part of their cultural practices. After lunch, you can spend some time in a hammock or participate in an activity such as learning how to make traditional handicrafts using natural materials.

Madidi - Santa Rosa de Yacuma river
It is an early start again with breakfast at 6:00 am after which we leave the lodge and head to the town of Santa Rosa de Yucuma, located in a unique ecoregion composed of grasslands and riverine forests known as the Beni Pampas, adjacent to the tropical rainforests of Madidi. Along the way, we will have opportunities to see sloths, birds, and other animals common to this region. Once in Santa Rosa, we again travel by boat along the Yacuma River to our eco-lodge. After we settle in and have lunch, we begin our first river safari, where we'll be able to see a diversity of animal species along the river. We will see dozens (if not hundreds!) of species of animals, including caimans, capybaras, turtles, birds, and, if the season is right, the beautiful, pink river dolphins that live in this wonderful place. We'll be back at our lodge by the end of the day and have time for a well-deserved rest.
