Today, with your private guide, you'll discover Lisbon. Lisbon, the city of the seven hills, will seduce you in every neighborhood, on every street. It’s old. It’s modern. Furthermore, it is, without doubt, always surprising. It's a cosmopolitan city with so much to see and do that it is difficult to have enough time to see everything you want. For today, we suggest a selection of things from amongst all those you can do, which cannot be missed in the Portuguese capital. Start with the historic Alfama and Castelo districts, with one of the most fabulous views over the city and the river. In Chiado and Bairro Alto, the most Bohemian part of the town, stroll around, feel the atmosphere and do some shopping. After a lunch break, follow towards Belém, the neighborhood of the Discoveries in a public transportation. Here you’ll find the iconic Belém Tower and the Jerónimos Monastery, both World Heritage Sites. Later in the day, you will have a cooking class with a small group. The best way to learn about the Portuguese gastronomy while you are in Portugal. You will learn all the secrets of some of the most traditional Portuguese recipes with a local chef/instructor in a cozy and fun environment! The chef/instructor will teach you how to prepare a traditional Portuguese meal consisting of fish dish, meat dish and dessert in a hands-on experience!

place Sintra City Tour and Fado Dinner

Today you’ll discover Sintra with your private guide! Sintra, the Mountain of the Moon, is a place full of magic and mystery. The town and the northern slope of the Serra de Sintra has wonderful natural characteristics and impressive historic landmarks. It's difficult to see all of Sintra has to offer in one single day, and keep in mind that this is the most famous day trip from Lisboa, so while it’s a wonderful destination, it’s also extremely touristy. The most visited palace is the Pena Palace, a fancy, revivalist reconstruction built in the Romantic period. However, during the busy season, the Pena Palace has long lines to get in, as it is the most touristy location in Sintra. If you wish to make the most out of your time in Sintra, we can recommend other equally beautiful and interesting palaces, such as the Palácio and Quinta da Regaleira, boasting impressive decorations laden with Masonic references, the Monserrate Palace, laden with Gothic and Indian influences, the beautiful medieval National Palace of Sintra or even the Queluz Palace, our little Versailles and a truly undiscovered gem. On the way back to Lisbon, stop in westernmost point of mainland Europe, Cabo da Roca. Continue your journey towards, Cascais and Estoril, one of the most cosmopolitan and touristic places in Portugal. It’s worth going on a stroll around town, feeling the atmosphere. In the evening, have a typical dinner at a Fado house while enjoying a Fado performance. Whether you like the style of music, dinner by candlelight listening to Fado in Lisboa is unmissable. Includes full day private tour of Sintra with a guide + Fado dinner

Aveiro is considered the “Portuguese Venice” due to its proximity to the sea and the ria (estuary). It’s crossed by a network of channels through which moliceiros (local boats) meander. Day 8

place Trancoso, Sortelha and Belmonte

Today’s time to venture further into the hinterland! You’ll visit Trancoso, Sortelha and Belmonte with a private driver! Trancoso was home to an extensive Jewish community in the 15th century. After the establisment of the Inquisition, 515 families were decimated, and Trancoso’s Jewish heritage left in peril. Nevertheless, it still lasts today, be it in written documents, signs carved on buildings and even buildings like the Casa do Gato Negro (Black Cat’s House), the former synagogue of Trancoso and the house of the rabbi. Surmounted by a castle built on a formidable crag at an altitude of 760 meters, Sortelha still retains its mediaeval appearance intact through the architecture of its rural granite houses. The great charm of this village is its evocation of a mediaeval atmosphere, with all the houses having been built of granite and generally consisting of just one storey. Their foundations have been built into the rock and follow the topography of the terrain. All around Sortelha, the landscape has the rugged beauty of the large granite boulders and the chestnut groves that frequently accompany these. Belmonte’s Jewish community settled in following the expulsion of many Jews from Spain in the 15th century. An ever-growing community, one can still find it in present day Belmonte. Be sure not to miss the mediaeval castle and the Jewish Museum of Belmonte, one of the most relevant and sought-after museums by the worldwide Jewish community. Stop by the Bet Eliahu Synagogue too, inaugurated in 1996.
