Day 1

place Welcome to Chile!

Your English speaking guide will pick you up at the airport and drive you to your hotel in Santiago. Afternoon at leisure in the capital to visit museums, stroll through the parks, climb to the Cerro Santa Lucia or Cerro San Cristobal (by funicular next to the National Zoo in the Bellavista district or on foot for the bravest!). From the top, enjoy the view of the city and the Andes mountains from the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception and its imposing statue.

Day 2

place Discover the Atacama Desert

Your driver takes you from your hotel in Santiago to the airport. Domestic flight from Santiago to Calama (2hours, optional flight). Arrival at Calama airport where your driver takes you to San Pedro de Atacama, a small oasis in the middle of the desert. Later, in the afternoon you meet with your guide who will pick you up to take you north to the Salar de Atacama. You head to the Ojos del Salar to discover these two small lagoons shaped like a pair of eyes. Depending on the season, you can refresh yourself swimming in the salty waters of the Cejar lagoon, where you can float as in the Dead Sea. Finally, you take a walk around the Tebenquinche lagoon, while our team prepare a nice cocktail to enjoy a magnificent sunset and later return to San Pedro de Atacama. Altitud max. 2.500m Note: swimming is 45 minutes max. and it’s forbidden for children under 6.

Day 3

place Moon and Death Valleys

Leave for a half-day tour to discover one of the most famous sites of the Atacama Desert: la Valle de la Luna, the Moon valley. To avoid the crowds at the end of the day and for an exclusive experience, your guide will pick you up in the morning. Explore with your expert guide the Moon valley and its treasures: the salt caves, the Amphitheatre, the Great Sand Dune, and the Three Marys. Then reach la Valle de la Muerte, the Death valley, for an easy hike and to visit the Coyote Stone. A full and fun morning to learn more about the geologic specificities of the place. Your driver takes you back to San Pedro.

Day 4

place Glamping in the Altiplano

This morning your guide picks you up at your hotel for a unique 2-day experience, out of the ordinary, full of surprises and emotions in the Atacama Desert.. You reach a jewel of the Altiplano, the Salar de Aguas Calientes and Capur, better known as Piedras Rojas due to the red color of its rocks produced by iron oxidation. The altiplanic lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques, at an altitude of 2400 meters, are of an impressive deep blue at the foot of the two volcanoes of the same name. After a lunch prepared by the team, you keep going from a discovery to another in the middle of this mysterious desert. You explore a place of history and traditions, the Peine village, a part of the Inca Trail, with its ruins and its Pukará, defensive fort. At the end of the day you reach Tilimonte where your comfort camp awaits you to spend a memorable night at 3.000 meters of altitude, in the heart of the desert. Enjoy the magical starry sky of the Atacama Desert, and observe the stars with a telescope provided, while a member of the team tell you all about Andean astronomy. Night in comfort camp: cotton futon, bedding, pillow and duvet, toilet tent, kitchen tent with dining room and washbasin. Meals: lunch, dinner and breakfast prepared by a chef who uses local products to offer you the best of altiplanic cuisine and local flavors. Maximum altitude: 3.000 meters.

Day 5

place Monturaqui crater - Peine village

After a magical night under the stars, you have breakfast in the camp site. Then your guide drives you to the impressive Monturaqui crater formed 660.000 years ago by a meteorite impact. Following lunch, you go back to Peine village, for a well-deserved swim in the Cochas, stone swimming pools originally built to water the oasis, in an splendid setting. Return to San Pedro de Atacama in the afternoon, unforgettable memories of the wild Andes in your head.

Day 6

place Tatio Geysers - back to Santiago de Chile

Your guide will pick you up at dawn so you can watch the sunrise over the geysers of the Tatio. It's the best time of the day to watch the fumaroles, those violent jets of burning steam. You enjoy a buffet breakfast made on site by our team. Then you can swim in the hot water pools of the Tatio, then direction the bofedal of Rio Putana, favorite place for the observation of animals of the Altiplano: birds, flamingos, vicuñas ... You take the road to head to the plains of Machuca to discover other beautiful landscapes of the Altiplano and if you want to visit his village, a little "too" touristy according to taste. Then walk easy in the area of Guatin to stretch your legs and discover its giant cacti. Return to San Pedro in the late morning. Altitude max. 4300m Your driver takes you from the hotel in San Pedro to Calama airport. Domestic flight from Calama to Santiago (around 2h, flight indicated in option). Your driver meets you at Santiago Airport and drives you to your hotel.

Day 7

place Visit of the Chiliean capital

With your private guide, visit of the Chilean capital, nestled at the foot of the Andes. Although Santiago has become over the years a modern and very active city, some older neighborhoods have maintained their atmosphere and a romantic charm. You will visit the Plaza de Armas, San Francisco Church, the Bellavista area, Cerro San Cristobal, etc. You are back to your hotel in the middle of the afternoon. Lunch at the famous central market.

Day 8

place The wine-making valleys

Your driver picks you up at your hotel and you take the road for the day to the Casablanca Valley. Wine enthusiasts and fine connoisseurs are found of this region famous for its grape varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc but even more recently for its Pinot Noir. Almuerzo tour with the Villard family In the Casablanca Valley, discover the vineyard Villard, this small independent vineyard run by the Franco-Chilean family Villard. After a first welcome drink, visit the estate and discover the history and the beginning of the vineyard and the Tanagra line. Then go to visit the cellar and the barrel room always by a member of the Villard family (Thierry or his son Jean-Charles), followed by the tasting that will be done around a full lunch (starter, main dish) to marry the best wine and food. Lunch includes a wine from the Expresion line, 3 wines from the Grand Vin line and a wine from the Tanagra line.

Day 9

place First day in Patagonia

Your driver will meet you at Santiago Airport and drive you to your hotel. Domestic flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas (around 3h30, flight indicated in option). A member of the EcoCamp team is waiting for you at Punta Arenas airport and driven to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park. On the way, you stop in Puerto Natales, a small, lively town on the shores of "Seno de Ultima Esperanza", where you enjoy a hearty local lunch, then you stop at Cueva de Milodon, a massive prehistoric cave where the remains of a giant ground sloth were discovered in the 1890’s. The whole journey is very scenic, with plenty of wild birds and wonderful landscapes to be seen. The day ends in EcoCamp Patagonia, nestled in the heart of the park with a view of the Torres. During summer the sun sets around 11pm, perfect to admire upon arrival the Patagonian steppe with its guanacos and snow-peaked mountain horizon. With a welcome aperitif your guides present the excursions and you choose your activity of the next day.

Day 10

place Explore Torres del Paine National Park

After breakfast, with your travel companions, you prepare your own box lunch at the buffet provided for this purpose and inform your guide of your choice of menu for dinner. The EcoCamp offers gourmet and traditional cuisine using local products and is suitable for all diets. The program of excursions varies according to the day of the week but also the very changing weather conditions in Patagonia known for having "4 seasons in a day". Each day you choose between three types of excursions which can be a hike, wildlife observation, a typical local experience, a navigation and a bike or horseback ride. Easy level - Hiking or cycling at Laguna Azul - Gray navigation and ride - Fauna trail to discover the local wildlife and Lake Sarmiento - Wild horses observation - Discovery of Salto Grande and observation of the condors Moderate level - Trek to the Gray Glacier - Boat transfer on Lake Pehoe and French Valley trek (W trek) Intense - Trek W - Mirador las Torres - Mirador Lago Toro Trek (Lazo Weber) - Trek Cerro Paine You head back to the EcoCamp fo a well deserved rest.

Day 11

place Hiking in Torres del Paine National Park

Suggested excursions: Leave for a new day trip to discover the Torres del Paine National Park declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. The EcoCamp Patagonia offers at least one hiking excursion every day, the most emblematic activity of Chilean Patagonia. Discover the beautiful trails and the extraordinary flora of the Azul Lagoon (5 km, 2 hours of hiking) on foot or by bike. Climb to the top of the "El Toro" viewpoint (12 km, 5 hours) and reach the magnificent viewpoint with a 360º panorama of the Patagonian Andes and the Honda lagoon. Or finally, take advantage of your visit to the Torres del Paine National Park to do the most famous hike in the park, namely "Mirador base las Torres" (22 km, 9 hours). After this good day of hiking and observation, we suggest you to go and relax at the dome "Man Keokén" where you can get a massage while contemplating the immensity of the Andes Cordillera.

Day 12

place Discover the great Patagonia's fauna and flora

Suggested excursions: As the name of the program "Wildlife Safari" indicates, the EcoCamp offers a wide range of excursions focused on the observation of Patagonia's fauna and flora. The short 10 km round trip hike from the Amarga Lagoon to Lake Sarmiento, allows you to discover the local fauna such as guanacos - camelids of the llama family, nandus and you may, if you are lucky, come across pumas along the way. Or discover the way of life of the Patagonian gauchos and wild horses in the area of Laguna Azul. On the road, in search of fierce animals, you can admire Lake Stokes, the Dickson massif and the imposing granite needles of Las Torres (8km, 6 hours). On your free time on the site: chat with other travelers, visit EcoCamp's ecological infrastructures (on request at the reception) or attend one of the yoga and stretching classes. Before your dinner, the EcoCamp team reconfirms your transfer the next day.

Day 13

After your breakfast and having prepared your lunch box, you leave your dome and say goodbye to the EcoCamp with incredible memories of Patagonia. Your driver takes you back to Punta Arenas airport. Domestic flight from Punta Arenas to Santiago (around 3h30, flight indicated in option).
