Arrival in Santa Cruz de la Sierra
Welcome to Bolivia! Today, you’ll arrive in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, a lowland city located at 400 meters above sea level. Santa Cruz is a young and cosmopolitan city with modern restaurants, clubs, and commercial districts. You will be picked up at the Viru Viru International Airport (VVI) and transferred to your accommodation where you can relax in the hotel before beginning your city tour around the city center. Afterward, you'll have some free time to rest before tomorrow's journey to Samaipata activities.

Samaipata, Patrimony of Humanity
Today, we leave Santa Cruz in the direction to the town of Samaipata, meaning “rest in the heights” in Quechua. The trip takes about two hours and after accommodation in the hotel, you'll have some time to relax. After lunch, we'll visit El Fuerte or The Fort—the world’s largest sculpted sandstone and an archeological site of the Inca empire, declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. From the crest of this stone, we will have a fantastic 360-degree view. We will return to the hotel and have the rest of the evening free.

The morning is free today to enjoy the town and the weather in the hotel. In the afternoon, we will return to the hotel in Santa Cruz where you have time to enjoy the pool and ask for different activities, upon request.

Travel to the White City of Sucre
This morning, a driver will pick you up at your hotel for your flight to Sucre, the constitutional capital of Bolivia. After a 50-minute flight, you’ll arrive at the airport and travel by paved road for 40 minutes to the city and then settle into your hotel. In the afternoon, a local guide will take you on a walking tour of the city center, where you will learn about the city's role in Bolivian history and in the history of Latin America in general. First, you will visit La Casa de la Libertad, where Bolivia's proclamation of independence from Spain was signed. You will also visit the ASUR Museum of Indigenous Art, a museum with textiles and other art forms of indigenous groups from the southern Andes as well as textile arts by indigenous groups from the region. After the tour, you'll have the rest of the day free to continue exploring the city.

Sucre - Potosi + Casa de la moneda
After breakfast, our driver will pick you up to go on a highly scenic 2-3hour drive from Sucre to the colonial city of Potosi, like Sucre declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Today, we will go on a walking tour around the traditional colonial streets, the artisan market, and pay a visit to the famous National House of the Mint (Casa Nacional de la Moneda) where original minting machinery is on display. After the tour, we will go by 20 minutes road to the Hotel-Museo Cayara where we will stay for the night.

Cayara Hotel-Museum transfer to Colchani
In the morning we will stroll around the Cayara Hotel Museum, a restored colonial hacienda, that dates back to 1557 that preserves many of the practices of colonial life and farming. After a walk around the hacienda, a driver will take you to Potosí for last-minute shopping before continuing our journey for about four hours through scenic valleys as we make our way to Uyuni where we will stay for the night before starting our expedition to the flats in the morning. Additionally, we can enjoy the famous stargazing tour, where the car takes us into the salt flats to enjoy the stars at night, an amazing spectacle for our eyes and cameras.

Exploring the Uyuni Salt Flats
Today your driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel and the journey begins with a short visit to the famed train cemetery, full of rusting train cars that were once used to transport minerals and people to and from Uyuni. Then we continue to the salt-harvesting village of Colchani to see how locals harvest and process salt for human consumption. After this, we continue on to the salt flats and visit the bizarre Incahuasi Island, covered in enormous cacti where we will enjoy an amazing 360º view of the flats. Enjoy a beautiful sunset in the middle of the endless expanse of glittering salt before go to your salt hotel in Colchani Tour time: 8 hours with stops

Experience the Andean Wildlife
After breakfast, you'll continue the adventure through the landscapes of the southern altiplano. We will enter the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve, the country's most visited protected area that offers different volcanoes, deserts, colorful lagoons, and unique Andean wildlife, such as three species of flamingos during the day. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing to the Red Lagoon before heading to your accommodation at Villamar village for a well-earned rest. Tour time: 8-10 hours with stops

Thermal Waters and Dalí Desert
After an early breakfast and optional dip in local thermal waters, our journey continues through the Dali Desert, passing by the Green and White Lagoons located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano. From this point, you can choose to continue to the town of San Pedro de Atacama or return to Uyuni for a flight back to La Paz. We can assist you with your migration procedures, and take you deep into the Atacama Desert.
