Arrival to capital of Slovenia Ljubljana and experience the vibrant city
Today you will arrive to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Our guide will pick you up at Ljubljana Airport and offer you a transfer to your hotel for check-in. Take some time to relax after a long flight and then continue with a sightseeing tour. The old city center offers a one-of-a-kind architectural appearance, particularly due to the unique combination of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture and masterful creations by the 20th-century architect Joe Plenik. Our guide will pick you up in front of your hotel and take you on a sightseeing tour. You will get to know why Triple Bridge is actually triple, where locals buy their food, how Napoleon was one of the most popular politicians, why Slovenia really lives with LOVE in our name also in Ljubljana, and... well, we don’t want to tell you too much. What is certain, this will be the first visit to Ljubljana out of many more that will follow.
Secrets of romantic Bled island,Vintgar Gorge & lake Bohinj with historic Skofja Loka
After breakfast, we will proceed to Bled and visit the castle on the top of the cliff and the famous 17th-century church on the small iconic island in the middle of the lake. In the afternoon a relaxing walk in the Bled Vintgar Gorge natural park will follow (if opened). Continue to Bohinj, our largest glacial lake located in the Triglav National Park. Take a swim or canoe or just walk next to it. Lake’s natural environment will impress you while it shows different phase each season. After tasting the exquisite sour milk or famous Bled’s cream cake we stop in Skofja Loka, one of the oldest Slovenian towns, have a walk around this medieval and charming town, situated under the castle and the monastery. Transfer back to Ljubljana.
Predjama castle & Discover UNESCO Skocjan caves & Lipizzaner & Explore Charming Mediterranean Piran
Discover the Slovenian coast and the Karst region. The first stop will be at Predjama castle. You will discover the secrets of the largest cave castle (Guinness World Records!), located on a 123-meter high cliff, and learn about the local Robin Hood legendary knight Erazem. Continue to UNESCO listed Skocjan Caves, one of the largest and most fascinating karstic sites in Europe with the Reka River running 200 m below the surface. The next stop is at one of the local taverns for the famous Karst air-dried prosciutto tasting; we like to think it is one of the best prosciuttos in the world, accompanied with the local wine Teran produced only in this region. Head on to for a short stop at Lipica, the homeland of the white Lipizzaner famous horse of the Spanish riding school in Vienna. Pass the coastal towns of Koper, Izola, and Portoroz and reach everyone’s favorite spot on the Slovenian coast Piran. Get lost in its medieval narrow streets and houses, enjoy some free time over an exquisite seafood meal in one of the many local restaurants or cafes. Overnight in Piran.
Explore charming Istrian hinterlands with Groznjan and Motovun
Today we will say goodbye to Slovenia and continue to discover Croatian Istria. Our final destination of the day will be Rovinj, but before that, we will first discover some hinterlands of Croatian Istria and taste some really good food and wine. We will explore the towns of Groznjan and Motovun, two very well hidden gems of the Istrian region, bringing history and folk traditions of small narrow streets where locals still live as they used to back in the past. On your wish, we can organize some wine and food tasting that we would really recommend. Arrive at Rovinj in the late afternoon where you will have some time to relax and enjoy some private moments.
Discover cobbled narrow streets of Istria's coastal star Rovinj and feel the beach vibe of Opatija
Start your day in Rovinj - a picturesque Istrian fishing harbor, an egg-shaped peninsula with narrow cobbled streets, stone houses, small squares, quality restaurants, the baroque Church of St. Euphemia located in the heart of the historic part of the a city with panoramic view, ... There are 134 sunny days in the year, making Rovinj the third sunniest place and also the place with the least clouds on the Adriatic :) After a good lunch, we will continue to Opatija - a city of rich history and beautiful surroundings to take a nice walk around the city and enjoy some good coffee/tea and some free time. Overnight in Opatija.
Stunning natural wonder of Plitvice Lakes National Park
Discover one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia. The unity and harmony of the 16 lakes here and their rare natural and cultural value is not only famous throughout Croatia but also worldwide; earning this remarkable national park a coveted place on UNESCO's list of World Heritage sites. Arriving at Plitvice, you'll walk through these ancient woodlands. The path takes us first across Gornja Jezera (Upper Lakes), a system of 12 lakes separated by travertine barriers. Wherever you are in Plitvice, it is easy to see why its travertine marble formations are such an extraordinary natural phenomenon. The barriers, sills, and other forms created in these lakes, the karst rivers, and streams are still an ongoing process that shapes the wonderful landscapes. It is these same travertine formations that have and are still creating the numerous magnificent waterfalls here. From Plitvice, we will continue to Zagreb where you will take some time to relax after a long day.
Hidden corners of capital of Croatia Zagreb & Transfer to Zagreb airport
