Day 2

place Sydney and Opera House Visit

Meet your guide at Queen Victoria Building and start your visit of Sydney. Learn about the city's fascinating history and how Sydney has developed into a thriving metropolis over the past 200 years, and you will see the imposing and elegant Victorian-era buildings that perfectly define Sydney's architectural heritage. Your guide will take you back in time, as you discover the historic Rocks district. It is here that Sydney was born. Your guide will share with you the stories and legends of this place, and will make you discover its secret little alleys and its architecture. For about an hour, your guide will take you to the heart of Sydney's Opera House, the emblem of the city but also of Australia as a whole. Walk around the interior of the building and its various rooms, and learn about its eventful history and the architectural challenge of its construction.

Transfer from your accommodation to Sydney Airport. Domestic flight Sydney - Ayers Rock (not included) GUIDED TOUR AND SUNSET ON ULURU IN SMALL GROUP Heading off to one of the most famous monolithic on the planet: Uluru (Ayers Rock)! Enjoy the special moment of the sun going down, together with a glass of sparkling wine and appetizers. The magic will have already worked... and the night will come to invade the place.

place Ayers Rock - Kata Tjuta

SUNRISE ON ULURU IN SMALL GROUPS WITH GUIDE Early this morning, your guide will accompany you to observe the sunrise on Australia's iconic monolith. You will have your breakfast as a picnic. You will take a walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent water point where you can admire rock paintings. You will learn more about the legends of Liru (the poisonous snake) and Kuniya (the Python woman) that link the Aboriginal people to this sacred rock. VISIT OF THE KATA TJUTA DOMES IN SMALL GROUPS WITH A LOCAL GUIDE Leave in the afternoon for the domes of Kata Tjuta (or Mount Olgas), located 40 kilometers from Ayers Rock. The place is sacred to the Aboriginals. You will stroll through the gigantic conglomerate walls, following the Walpa Gorge where the wind blows add a magical side to the place. Your guide will explain the importance of these domes to the Aboriginals, the history of its formation over the millennia, and the richness of its fauna and flora. Return to your hotel around 5pm. UNDER-THE-STAR DINNER WITH ULURU'S SITE IN THE BACKGROUND. Enjoy a buffet-barbecue under the stars in the middle of the desert with typical Australian dishes such as barramundi, kangaroo, emu, crocodile and bush salads, topped with local wines. With your head in the stars, astronomers will unveil the mysteries of the spectacular night sky of the Southern Hemisphere. Let yourself be carried away by the mysterious tales, the rhythm of an Aboriginal dance and the sound of the didgeridoo, during these 4 hours at Ayers Rock.

Day 5

place Ayers Rock - Darwin - Bamurru Plains

Domestic flight Ayers Rock - Darwin (not included) A small plane will take you from Darwin and fly over spectacular plains and swamps before landing and reaching your camp. You will stay at the lodge "Bamurru Plains", the experience is unique you will discover all the strength of these wild lands in peace and quiet. You will wake up in front of huge unspoilt areas in the company of buffaloes and kangaroos.

Day 6

place Kakadu National Park - Bamurru Plains

You will discover the Kakadu National Park with its famous Aboriginal cultural sites. You will take an early morning flight to the steep Jabiru area in the heart of Kakadu Park. You will visit the site of Ubirr with its rock paintings listed as World Heritage. You will take a walk on the rocky spur of the "Narbdab", a magnificent viewpoint with in the distance the land of Arnhem and its immense territory, still mysterious... return by small plane around 5pm to your lodge.

Day 7

place Bamurru Plains

Day stay at Bamurru Plains where you can enjoy the various excursions. You can choose among its different activities: - a guided pick-up ride in the bush or on foot in the forest; - an excusion in airboat, a small boat with an ultra-powerful propeller to travel the "wetlands" and observe the crocodiles closely - a cruise on the Sampan River. These are usually performed early in the morning or at the end of the day.

Day 8

place Bamurru Plains - Darwin

Departure from Bamurru, you will take a scenic flight to Darwin. Private transfer from Darwin Airport to your accommodation. Capital city of the Northern Territoriy, Darwin is a dynamic, pleasant city. Depending on your preferences, you can choose to visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory or to have a coffee at Stokes Hill Wharf. Then, you can make your way to the Crocosaurus Cove, where you will see several species of crocodiles... At the end of the day, relax on Mindil Beach. Every Thursday and Sunday, from May to October, a nice open-air market is organized on the beach. Both Aussies and tourists like to wander stroll between the stands. You will find everything you need to eat on the go.

Day 9

place Darwin - Cairns

Private transfer from your accommodation to Darwin Airport. Domestic flight Darwin - Cairns (not included) Private transfer from Cairns Airport to your accommodation at the Thala Lodge. The THALA has two superb tropical swimming pools, in the heart of an enchanting decor, as well as a spa where you can relax. It has a magnificent position on a promontory framed by one of the most beautiful private beaches, 2 km of white sand beach in a beautiful setting. Tropical forests, eucalyptus trees, creeks and mountains plunging into the sea are the ingredients of this fabulous natural landscape. On site a local guide, will be able to propose you to discover with him this environment through different walks.

place Cape Tribulation - Thala Reserve

EXCURSION IN THE DAINTREE FOREST IN SMALL GROUP WITH ENGLISH-SPEAKING GUIDE : Morning departure from your hotel to discover the region of Cape Tribulation where the tropical forest meets the beach. You will take the beautiful coastal road to the Daintree River where you will cruise to observe birds and crocodiles in their natural habitat. A barge will take you across the river and up to Alexandra Viewpoint to enjoy the view of the rainforest and the coral sea. You will then take a walk to discover this tropical forest listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and recognized as one of the oldest in the world. You will discover with your guide the fauna and flora of this particular environment and look for a rare and unique bird, the Cassowari. You will have lunch in a typical menu in a private property in the heart of the forest. You will drive back to Cape Tribulation to enjoy its beautiful beaches, the opportunity to take a short walk on one of them and then you will take a track, the Bloomfield Track to reach Emmagen cove, a small well kept jewel in the heart of the tropical forest where you will be able to refresh yourself in its translucent waters. And it will be time to take the road back.

Day 11

At the reception of the Thala, as you may have already noticed, there are many books on birds. The place is recognized worldwide by ornythologists. If you are interested, you can leave early in the morning to observe the birdlife of the surroundings. A specialized staff member will be able to organize this excursion for you. And you will have free time to enjoy the place.

Day 12

place Cairns - Orpheus Island

Your stay in Thala ends today Private transfer from your accommodation at the Thala Lodge to Cairns Airport. Domestic flight Cairns - Orpheus Island (not included) 4 NIGHT STAY ON ORPHEUS ISLAND : During the 4 days of your stay, your program will be à la carte. You will be able to choose among the various activities offered by this luxury establishment, and take advantage of its many services. Meals are also included, and are served with a selection of regional wines, beers and soft drinks. Every day, an outdoor activity will be available, allowing you to discover a new facet of this little corner of paradise: snorkelling, fishing, sunset cruise or cultural tour accompanied by a local guide. Scuba diving enthusiasts will find a PADI diving centre just a few minutes from the hotel (extra charge). The eastern coral reef surrounding Orpheus is one of the richest in the Great Barrier Reef: more than 1,200 species of fish have been recorded there! From the beginning of August to the beginning of November, you will be able to swim with manta rays, a unique experience!

The Orpheus also provides you with catamarans, small motor boats, kayaks and snorkelling equipment! So you can explore the island and its surroundings as you wish, at your own pace and in complete tranquillity. Numerous secluded bays guarantee you to make new discoveries every day. Fishing rods are also available. If you are going on a day trip and do not wish to have lunch at the hotel, the chef will prepare a delicious picnic for you.

Day 15

Today you can still enjoy the island of Orpheus and the hotel's facilities in complete freedom. After a day spent surveying the island or exploring its coral reefs, you can enjoy a delicious "mod'oz" dinner made from local produce. This can even be served on a private pontoon boat (optional) where you can watch the tide and the stars... A great way to end your stay on this dream island !

Day 16

After breakfast, you will have some time to enjoy this extraordinary island... and bid farewell to the exceptional destination of Orpheus. You will then take your flight back to the mainland and catch your international flight connection.
