Breakfast at the hotel. Private tour Biarritz and St Jean de Luz. Our English-speaking guide and private Mercedes Sedan with driver will pick you up at 9:00, and you will be back around 17:30 (TBD) This neat adventure takes from San Sebastian to Hendia, the longest beach of the Basque County. From there you'll visit Saint Jean de Luz and Biarritz, one of the most posh beach resorts of the Basque Coast in France. Before your tour ends you'll visit Hondarribia - with its medieval old part, it's one of the few fortified towns in the Basque County. You will first start in Hendaia: The longest beach of the Basque Country, Sundays are the best days to try the delicious oysters in beachfront stalls! After a short stop, you will depart to Saint Jean de Luz through the beautiful coastal “La Corniche Road”. Former Basque Corsairs’ capital - Saint Jean de Luz: Although Saint Jean de Luz is located a mere 20 minutes away from Biarritz and both are famous beach resorts, the atmosphere in St Jean de Luz is completely different, somehow more relaxed. It is busy but not overcrowded, beautiful but not overly luxurious. There are large beautiful Basque houses that form the old part of the town. Many of the buildings date back to the 17th century, a time when Saint Jean de Luz was one of the most important fishing ports of France. We will then continue to Biarritz: One of the most elegant beach resorts of the Basque Coast, it is a luxurious French seaside town and is popular with tourists and surfers. Biarritz also boasts some of the best beaches in Europe. Biarritz's became more renowned in 1854 when Empress Eugenie (the wife of Napoleon III) built a palace on the beach (now the Hôtel du Palais). The British royal family and European royalty regularly took vacations in Biarritz. We will take you to a very special place in Biarritz for lunch: A private collector’s country home. Please note that lunch cost is not included.

place Afternoon Pintxos Experience

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the morning at your leisure. Private Pintxos Experience. Dine in San Sebastian like a local, led by our friendly and knowledgeable Basque guide. Our expert foodie guide will meet you in the evening at a designated meeting point to begin a Pintxo Tour in the old town of San Sebastian. Pintxos (Basque tapas) line every bar in San Sebastian’s famed Old Town, but knowing where to find the best ones is an art. While it’s hard to have a bad meal in town, knowing exactly where to go for the best, freshest, and most exciting pintxos takes local, insider knowledge. This is just exactly what you will be getting! A pintxo is a small snack, typically eaten in bars, traditional in northern Spain and especially popular in the Basque Country and Navarre. They are usually eaten as a small snack while hanging out with friends or relatives. They are related to tapas with the main difference being that pintxos are usually 'spiked' with a skewer or toothpick, often to a piece of bread. You’ll dive straight into the culinary heart of the city for a day of eating and drinking unlike any you’ve ever experienced. From fresh prawns, line-caught baby squid to perfectly charred steak, the pintxo hunt changes nightly, but always features a range of traditional spots and chic, avant-garde bars. Come thirsty too, as you’ll be pairing each pintxo with the perfect drink; from cider to local whites and reds. This is the best way to get acquainted with the city on your first night in San Sebastian.
