Marrakech Sightseeing (appro 3 hours walk ) :
Bahia Palace located in the Mellah, South of historic city. The centerpiece of the Moroccan architecture, it covers 8000 m2, and is the receptacle of the know-how of the craftsmen. Around the central garden, planted with orange, you can admire in the parts confortabe ceilings painted and gilded, wooden marquetry as fine as lace, like stucco, and zelliges bordering the fountains.. They are quite spectacular, full of the colorful ornaments and architectural elements common for the traditional Moroccan architecture. The palace was built from 1984-1900 designed by El Mekki, the Moroccan architect, on behalf of the Grand Vizier Ba Ahmed ben Moussa said Hmad. Only the best workmen and craftsmen of the country were working on this masterpiece of Islamic and Moroccan style. It’s an amazing place for capturing some great photos. Saadian Tombs Located next to the mosque of the Kasbah, the Saadian tombs are one of the only remains of the Saadian dynasty that reigned over the golden age of Marrakech between 1524 to 1659. In the early 18th century, Sultan Moulay Ismail had indeed decided to remove all traces of the magnificence of this dynasty by demanding the destruction of all remaining vestiges. He dared not, however, commit the sacrilege of destroying their burials and ordered that the entrance to the necropolis should be completed. The secret remained well kept until 1917, date of the rediscovery of the site of the Saadian tombs. Although this royal necropolis was used from the beginning of the 14th century, its splendor dates back to the 16th century with the burial of Prince Mohamed Sheikh in 1557. His son Ahmed El Mansour, also known as Ahmed “the Walleye”, had it enlarged and embellished the site by building the koubba “Lalla Mesouada” from his mother’s name. Lalla Messaouda was buried there in 1591 as well as the 3 successors of the sultan. Koutubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakesh with the traditional Minaret tower built in almohad style, that became one of

Marrakech - Ait benhadou - Ouarzazate - Skoura - Dades Valley
As our private tour of Morocco leaves Marrakech, the distant haze begins to resolve itself into a jagged mountain range - the High Atlas mountains, jutting abruptly from the plain. Our route follows the same one caravans used centuries ago, to bring into Marrakech slaves, gold and precious wood from the other side of the ocean of sand, the Sahara. Beautiful scenery and small villages built in tiers succeed among oak trees, walnut groves and snow patches before arriving at the Tizi n Tichka pass, at 2260 meters high. Once over the pass a totally different picture is unveiled . Before Ouarzazate we go off from the main raod to drive to visit UNESCO site of Ait Benhaddou, the postcard- like adobe citadel. A fat, red sun, only underlines the beige tones of the mud- and- straw mixture and through the covered passages and stone walls, the past filters itself into the present. In spite of the local ‘guides’, the best is to just lose yourselves in its alleyways. There is always a new way to reach its peak, from where the snowcapped Atlas Mountains framed by the denim blue sky will steal your breath away. If the climb up hadn’t already. the village of Ait benhaddou, where you will have lunch, before exploring the site, declared by the UNESCO as a world heritage site. The village is known as a backdrop for many cinematographic works, the most famous ones are 'The gladiator', 'Lawrence of Arabia' and even some scenes of the classi 'Game of thrones' were shot in this village. Seven families still live in the old village of Ait benhaddou, the rest have moved to the other side of the valley, a more modern side. Ksar Ait benhaddou was a pausing station for the caravanes traveling along the Ounila valley, the merchants either exchange goods here and go back to the desert, or pause to rest then continue to Marrakech, they used to trade salt, silver and slaves. Past Ouarzazate, our bespoke tour of Morcco reaches yet another lush area, nested between the deserted crest and the deso

Dades Valley - Todra gorge - Risani - Merzouga (
Back on the road, our first stop is Tinerhir (Tinghir), with its extensive palm grove, the ksours built into the rocky hills above it and its mysterious decaying Jewish quarter. Tinerir has been for generations a stop for nomadic Berber tribes travelling from the mountains north of it towards the desert during the winter months. A rather inconspicuos hidden gem is the 19th century adobe mosque nested within the old crumbling ksour, a heaven for photography enthusiasts. Todra Gorges , lie only 15 km from Tinerhir, presenting an arresting spectacle with its crystal clear river emerging from it, its huge walls changing color to magical effect as the day unfolds. Its 300 meters ( 1000 feet ) high walls are home to more than 150 bolted routes and at any time of day you can catch a glimpse of someone rock climbing his way up the gigantic walls. Before reaching Merzouga where the tarmac ends, our 4x4 Morocco tour passes Erfoud , to Reach Merzouga . Soon after we reach Merzouga and in the distance you glimpse the first leviathans of sand forming the Sahara: the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We'll stop for a break at a local kasbah where you can have have a Rest before being hopped onto a camel and taking the route to the camp nested in the middle of the dunes. Then, while the staff of the camp is unloading your luggage and preparing your dinner, you climb onto the highest dune you can find. Take a moment and watch the sun hide behind dunes heavily shaded, shadow turning them from golden to burnt orange. There is nowhere else you would rather be. After dinner, the camp staff turn out to be quite gifted musicians. At night, dazed by the millions of stars glittering above, the silence is so thick you feel you could cut a strip and wear it as a scarf, as you fall asleep. And while the sun sets, there is nowhere else you would rather be. Dinner and accommodation in a private tent in a camp in the dunes. Here, luxury tent with en suite bathroom and toilets.overnight in camp .
