ARRIVE OUAGADOUGOU, BURKINA FASO
Upon arrival at Ouagadougou International Airport, you will be met and assisted before being transferred to your hotel. Burkina Faso, formerly known as the Republic of Upper Volta, received its current name on August 4, 1984, under President Thomas Sankara. The name reflects the nation’s identity: “Burkina” (from Mooré) means upright, symbolizing the people’s integrity and pride, while “Faso” (from Doula) means fatherland, literally “father’s house.” The suffix “-bé”, added to form “Burkinabé,” comes from Foulani and means “men and women.” Enjoy a tour orientation with your guide and overnight stay in Ouagadougou.
