Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli | First Game Drive on Open Plains
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive south to Amboseli National Park, following the day’s route toward one of Kenya’s best-known wildlife areas. Arrive in time for lunch, with the transfer setting up a smooth start before your afternoon safari activity.
In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive across Amboseli’s open plains. The park is known for large elephant herds and sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro, giving you a strong introduction to the landscape, wildlife, and photography opportunities that define this part of Kenya.
Amboseli National Park lies in southern Kenya near the Tanzania border, with Mount Kilimanjaro forming one of its most recognizable backdrops.

Spend the day exploring Amboseli National Park with game drives scheduled in both the morning and afternoon. This pacing gives you two separate opportunities to experience the park’s open landscapes and observe wildlife activity across different parts of the day.
Amboseli’s swamps and savanna attract abundant wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and diverse birdlife. When conditions are clear, views of Mount Kilimanjaro create an exceptional backdrop for photography throughout the safari experience.
Amboseli National Park is widely associated with elephant viewing, and its wetland areas are a key part of the park’s wildlife habitat.

Day 3: Amboseli to Kasigau | Community Welcome via Voi
After breakfast, depart Amboseli and travel via Voi toward Mount Kasigau. Continue to the Kasigau Community, located at the foothills of Kasigau Hill. On arrival, you are welcomed by the local community and introduced to your hosts before beginning your first community interaction experience.
This first encounter may include traditional dances and cultural performances, a visit to local basket weavers and artisans, and participation in a symbolic tree planting activity that contributes to conservation efforts. In the evening, head out for a scenic sundowner with vast landscapes, sunset views, and light snacks.
Symbolic tree planting is often used in community conservation settings to connect environmental stewardship with local participation.

Day 4: Kasigau Cultural Immersion | Nature Walks and WWI History
After breakfast, immerse yourself in the natural and ecological richness of Kasigau. Join guided nature walks and eco-learning experiences around the Kasigau ecosystem, with time to explore indigenous plants, trees, and their traditional uses.
Interact with community conservation initiatives before lunch during the day. In the afternoon, visit the Kasigau historical site to learn about First World War events in the region, particularly encounters between British and German forces and how they shaped the local community and its history. Return in the evening for relaxation.

Day 5: Kasigau to Mombasa | SGR Train Journey to the Coast
After an early breakfast, depart Kasigau and transfer to the Voi SGR Terminus. From there, board your train for the journey to the coast, keeping the day focused on the transition from the Kasigau Community area toward Mombasa.
On arrival at the Mombasa Terminus, you are met for your onward transfer into the city. After completing the transfer, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, giving you unstructured time following the rail journey and arrival on the coast.
The SGR route is a major passenger rail link between Kenya’s inland and coastal travel corridors.

Day 6: Mombasa Market and Cooking | Guided Swahili Food Experience
After breakfast, begin with a short guided visit to a local market in Mombasa. Experience the rhythm of daily coastal life as you move through the market with your guide, interact with local vendors, and select a few fresh ingredients to be used later in the day.
In the afternoon, continue to a Swahili cooking experience. Prepare and enjoy a selection of traditional coastal dishes influenced by the region’s rich cultural heritage, connecting the morning’s market interaction with a hands-on introduction to Mombasa’s food traditions.
Swahili cuisine on Kenya’s coast is closely tied to long-standing coastal trade, which helped shape its use of spices and layered flavors.

Day 7: Mombasa History and Food | Old Town Sights and Evening Street Food
After breakfast, set out for a half-day exploration of Mombasa, giving you a final glimpse into the city’s history and coastal character. Your route includes Fort Jesus, Mombasa Old Town, Mama Ngina Waterfront, the Mombasa Tusks, also known as the Elephant Tusks, and surrounding areas.
Lunch is served at a local Swahili restaurant before you return in the early afternoon for leisure and relaxation. In the evening, step out for a curated street food experience, discovering the vibrant cuisines, flavors, and atmosphere of Mombasa’s local food scene.

Day 8: Mombasa to Nairobi | Departure by SGR Train
After breakfast, transfer to Mombasa SGR station for your return train to Nairobi. This final travel segment keeps the day focused on the journey from the coast back toward Kenya’s capital, following the same rail corridor used earlier in the trip.
On arrival in Nairobi, proceed on to your onward plans. The itinerary ends with this return connection, giving you a clear departure sequence from Mombasa SGR station to the train journey and final arrival point in Nairobi.
The Standard Gauge Railway connects Mombasa and Nairobi as one of Kenya’s key passenger rail routes.
