Transfer from Haneda Airport to Shirahama Airport by domestic flight, where a private car will transfer you to your hotel for the night. Spend the evening relaxing and having dinner at your accommodation before starting your trek tomorrow.

Takajiri-Oji Path
Our guide will meet you at your hotel lobby and you will transfer to the starting point of the Kumano Kodo trail that is called Takijiri-oji. The Kumano Kodo has many routes to visit the three major shrines and you will take one of these routes, called the Nakahechi trail, and the most popular route for travelers in the past and present.

Hosshinmon-Oji Path
Today with your guide you will trek to Hosshinmon-Oji, from where you will travel to your hotel by private car. You will be staying the night in Hachinoyu hot spring village which has a history of over 1800 years.

Hayatama Shrine by Boat
Our guide will meet you at your hotel and you will transfer to Hosshinmon-Oji where you ended your day yesterday. First you will visit the shrines Kumano Hongu Taisha and Oyunohara where you can find a big torii gate near the river. After that, head to the next shrine called Hayatama Taisha by boat, which was a traditional means of travel for aristocrats over 1200 years ago. Head to your hotel for dinner at the end of the day.

Journey to the End
Today, meet your guide in the hotel lobby and start trekking from Daimon Zaka to visit the last shrine called Nachi Taisha. Nachi Shrine is home to the tallest waterfall in Japan and is the pinpoint of the fusion of Shinto and Buddhist religion which the Kumano area is known for. The red three story pagoda gives an impressive impact against the backdrop of the waterfall and makes for a wonderful and spiritual visit.

Departure
After breakfast, a private car will meet you in the hotel lobby and transfer you to Kii-Katsuura Station. Depending on the schedule of the train, you will either go through Nagoya or Osaka Station to Kyoto Station. As it will be a long trip, we recommend you grab some lunch at Nagoya or Osaka Station. From here, continue your journey in Kyoto!
