place Luang Prabang

You will take a drive to the Kuang Sy waterfalls, one of the highlights of Luang Prabang. These cascading falls are made up of limestone formations and numerous turquoise-colored pools, and have become a must-see destination for those visiting northern Laos. The lower level of the falls has been turned into a public park and is where you will take a break and enjoy the shade and the refreshingly cool atmosphere of the falls. However, the main point of interest is further up the path: numerous small, natural, limestone pools which have been formed by the process of water erosion. Enjoy your surroundings and spend some time swimming and relaxing in some of the pools. Duration of the walk: 2 hours Transportation: 30 kilometers - 45 minutes - 1 hour On the way back to city center, you will make a stop at the buffalo dairy farm, a social enterprise which rents female buffaloes from local farmers to milk them while providing the locals with a regular source of income. Note: Cheese plate or cheesecake and ice cream - it does NOT replace the lunch Duration: about 1 hour In the afternoon, learn more about Laos' wartime history and the unexploded ordinances that still threaten the country. In the small two-room museum you will be given explanations about the NGO activities. Duration: 45 minutes visit, including 25 minutes of the film Eating is an important part of Lao culture and a time when families and friends come together after a hard day of work. This evening your taste buds will be awakened as you taste a selection of popular Lao dishes on a gastronomic walking tour near the city center. You will enjoy a delicious bowl of one of the Lao staples - Khao Soi or Pho. Your final walk will be to the night market area where you will end your culinary adventure with some tasty Kaojee and Khao Nom Kok! Duration: 1 hour – 1h 30min

place Luang Prabang - Nong Khiaw - Muong Ngoi with Homestay

In the morning, you’ll journey by road towards Nong Khiaw with a chance to visit some villages. Situated on the banks of the peaceful Nam Ou River, Nong Khiaw is a charming town surrounded by some of the most fantastic limestone mountains in the north of Laos. Today, you will discover the beautiful natural environment with a hike to the top of the mountain along the small path. Enjoy the adventurous feeling of climbing at your own rhythm up a hill covered with a lush forest. Along the trail, you’ll find places to sit and rest on bamboo benches and get your breath back before continuing your upward exploration. On the way, there are ropes set up at some points that you can use to assist your effort. Perhaps a little breathless, but triumphant, you’ll be rewarded at the top of the mountain with a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Nong Khiaw and the Ou River winding through the surrounding mountains! After a stop at the bamboo Sala at the top to contemplate the beauty of the viewpoint, you will go back to the town. At the end of the afternoon, we begin cruising up the Nam Ou River for around an hour to Muong Ngoi village.

Here there is the possibility to explore community life by walking around the small village or enjoying the views of rice fields and the surrounding hills from a small restaurant terrace.
