In the morning, your guide will pick you up at the hotel for a unique private tour of the city. La Boca, a neighborhood famous for its brightly-painted houses. It's also home to the legendary Boca Juniors Football Club, where Diego Maradona made his name. Puerto Madero, which is situated on the riverside along the Río de la Plata. This major gastronomic and business hub is situated in former commercial docks. Along the canals, these former industrial warehouses were converted into elegant bars, eateries, and offices during one of the most successful urban waterfront restoration projects in the world. Palermo, the largest neighborhood, hosts huge parks and some of Buenos Aires' trendiest bars, clubs, and fashion boutiques. This neighborhood—which has nearly 350 acres of parks, lakes, and wooded areas—offers a peaceful retreat from the busy city. Recoleta, home to an array of fashionable restaurants, cafés, boutiques, malls, and luxury hotels, which reside along tree-lined avenues. Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the airport to take your flight to El Calafate. Upon arrival, a driver will meet you at the airport for a transfer to EOLO Hotel. The ride is around one hour. After breakfast, we will start our guided tour along Route 11 towards Los Glaciares National Park. We will pass by the edge of the main body of Argentino Lake and move on towards the branch called Rico. We will stop at the entrance of the National Park in order to pay the admission fee and, once inside the park, we will go to “Curva de los Suspiros” (“Curve of Sighs”), where we will get off the vehicle in order to see the Perito Moreno Glacier for the first time. Further on, we will stop at the Muelle Bajo las Sombras (Pier Under the Shadows) to start the nautical safari, a one hour group cruise which allows getting closer to the southern wall of the Glacier. Then we will move on to the front catwalks of the glacier where we will watch it from different balconies and enjoy our free time by appreciating the various detachments. Time to rest and get ready for a cruise around the Beagle Channel. We’ll set sail from Ushuaia’s commercial pier and cruise around Alicia Island aboard our exclusive boat, the Akawaia. There, we’ll watch for seabirds like the steamer duck, sheldgoose, kelp gull, seagull, and snowy sheathbill. Near the Mary Ann and Les Eclaireurs island we’ll observe South American sea lions and fur seals, as well as both imperial and rock shags. After covering the 10 km from Ushuaia to Tierra del Fuego National Park, this tour visits its most relevant attractions. On foot, and in contact with Nature, along the undulating 8-km-long Coastal Path, this medium-difficulty hike should not pose a big challenge to those passengers used to exercise, and with the appropriate attire. Near to the border of Lapataia River, lunch will be served with a great panoramic view from inside a heated dome-tent, to avoid wind or rain. Afterwards, all participants will be equipped with rubber boots, coverpants and lifejackets: the excursion will continue from Lake Acigami aboard inflatable canoes (duckies) for about an hour through the freshwater of the Lapataia and Ovando rivers until reaching the sea in Lapataia Bay. This canoe activity ends near the point where Route 3 (also called Pan-American Highway) meet its southern end. After the departure from the hotel the tour goes through a glacial valley surrounded by snowy peaks up to its first stop at the Garibaldi pass: the only road crossing the chain of the Fuegian Andes. From this lookout, high up the Andes Range, it is beautiful to see Lake Escondido, a small wonder at the bottom of the valley. Near the north end of Lake Escondido, and after leaving the paved road behind, the a itinerary continues along a series of old paths that a sawmill opened in the forest, that soon become impassable for conventional vehicles the further they approach Lake Fagnano, the fifth largest in Argentina. In the forest near the Fagnano coast there will be free time to walk and enjoy the place, while the guide prepares an abundant meal to be enjoyed comfortably in an exclusive refuge located in a natural environment, away from the noise of modern life.
