Take a 30-minute helicopter tour over the Panama Canal zone. The flight is perfect for enjoying the magnificent views of the Panama Canal from the air. The tour departs from Panama City. Flying parallel to the Panama Canal, just off to the left side, both the Miraflores and Pedro Miguel Locks will appear, providing passengers with spectacular views and a better understanding of how the Canal's system of locks operate. Oil tankers, cargo ships, and perhaps even a cruise ship, can be viewed entering and/or departing the locks. You will also fly over Gaillard cut, Lake Gatun and Soberania National Park before returning to Panama City. Half day City and Canal Tour Private tour with English speaking guide The tour starts with a visit to Miraflores Locks. This is one of the two sets of locks located on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal. You will enjoy the fascinating show of the big ships inside the narrow chambers! The visitor’s center provides technical, historical and ecological information about the Canal. After a short drive we continue to the colonial quarter, ''Casco Antiguo'', founded in 1673 after the first Spanish settlement was burned down by pirates. It is home to the Presidential Palace, the National Theater, the Metropolitan Cathedral and many other buildings with colonial architecture. It has plenty of little restaurants and souvenir shops. In 1997 Casco Antiguo became a World Heritage Site of the UNESCO. Duration 04:00hrs.

Day 11

place Day at Leisure in the San Blas Archipelago

Stretching more than 250 km in the direction of Colombia, San Blas is an archipelago of 375 islands with only 50 of them being inhabited. It has no equivalent in the Caribbean and, one can say, in the world! You will, of course, be amazed by its unbelievable scenery of lagoons, white sand beaches and transparent waters. But San Blas is much more than that. It is part of Guna Yala, the ''comarca'' or territory of the Guna indigenous people, an ancient race who never accepted the rule of either the other indigenous groups, the Spanish or the Panamanians. In San Blas the Guna traditional law is applied, and a foreigner(Panamanians included) cannot own land.
