Day 1

place Day 1: La Paz - Rurrenabaque, Bolivia

Duration: 6 Days

Departure Time: 9:35, 16:45


Transfer to Rurrenabaque


Today, at the scheduled time, you will be picked-up from your hotel and transferred to the airport to take the flight to Rurrenabaque. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Transfer to Madidi National Park, visit to a local community and afternoon walking tour (B/L/D)


At 8:30 hrs, you will be picked-up from your hotel. Today, we will take a 3-hour boat trip, and enjoy spectacular views of the Beni and Tuichi rivers before entering the Madidi National Park. We will visit a local community to learn a little about the way of life in the jungle. During the boat ride, we will enjoy magnificent landscapes such as the Bala Canyon. At around 11:45 hrs, we will arrive at the ecolodge and have a refreshing glass of fruit juice. In the afternoon, we will take a leisurely walk along trails specifically designed for watching animals such as monkeys and peccaries, and learn more about the natural environment.

Day 3

Madidi National Park, activities in the jungle and night walking tour (B/L/D)


At 09:00 hrs, we will prepare everything to spend a night camping in the depths of the jungle. We will have to carry the essential equipment (sleeping bags, sleeping mats, mosquito nets) during a walk of about 4 hours to reach our camp "Arenalito", where we can prepare lunch and rest. At 15:30 hrs, we will walk to the top of a mountain where we can see macaws, parrots and other birds. From this place, we can watch these colourful birds, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rainforest and a stunning sunset. At around 20:00 hrs, we can take a short walk and be able to see some armadillos, snakes, monkeys, tapirs, nocturnal birds etc. Often at night, you can also hear the roar of the jaguar or puma.

Day 4

Madidi National Park, Tuichi River and optional activities in the jungle (B/L/D)


In the early morning, at around 05:30 hrs, we will take a short walk near the camp and enjoy the sunrise while listening to noisy howler monkeys and a variety of birds welcoming the new day. At 09:30 hrs, we will head for the Tuichi River and build a log raft (traditional transport of the Amazonian Indians). We will go rafting for about 2 hours until we reach the ecolodge. We will also have the boat for security, for our backpacks, and for those who do not wish to participate in this activity. After this, we will have a free afternoon to take a rest. You can also choose an activity, for example, you may want to make traditional handicrafts or go fishing.

Day 5

Transfer back to Rurrenabaque and transfer to the Pampas (B/L/D)


After breakfast, we will return to Rurrenabaque and at around 09:00 hrs, we will leave for Santa Rosa. We will travel in a comfortable vehicle equipped with seat belts and A/C. Leaving at this time, we have great opportunities to see sloths, anteaters, birds, and other animals along the road. At 11:30 hrs, we will take a boat for 15 minutes to our eco-lodge “The Turtles”, where you will be welcomed with a cold fruit juice of the season and we will have lunch. At 14:30 hrs we will go for a boat trip and look for the pink dolphins; we might be able to swim with them. During the boat trip we will be able to see birds, turtles, alligators and other animals, depending on the season.

Day 6

Morning walking tour and transfer back to Rurrenabaque and La Paz (B/L)


Today, at 08:30 hrs, we will take a short walk in the pampas to look for the impressive anaconda (depending on the season). After lunch, we will return to Rurrenabaque and will be transferred to the airport to take the flight back to La Paz where this amazing adventure will come to an end.
