Mardi Himal Trekking is an alternate trekking route and is the best choice to skip crowd of the visitors in the Annapurna region. This trek takes you to the base of the Mardi Himal and Machapuchhre. Trekking in ‘off the beaten path, offers fantastic views of the Himalayas of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and the distant Mt. Manaslu. Trek starts from Pokhara, driving 30 minutes to Kande. You will pass by the Himalayan viewpoint commonly known as Australian Camp. The trail goes along small winding paths, through magical rhododendron forests until you climb out of the forest at an elevation of around 3,300 m. During the trek, you will stay in simple guesthouses and homestays along the entire route, enjoy local foods viewing outstanding landscapes, and wonder at the panoramic views of the massive mountains including the least climbed peak Mardi Himal, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli, and sacred Peak Machapuchre. From High Camp (3580 m), you can climb up to Mardi Himal Base Camp in about 3-4 hours, which offers spectacular close-up views of the entire Annapurna Range.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing Stay

Day 3: Drive to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft): 6-7 hours.

Day 4: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m/6,720ft): 30 minutes drive, 4-5 hours trek

Day 5: Deurali to forest camp (2,520m/8064ft): 6-7 hours

Day 6: Forest Camp to low camp (2970m/9504ft): 5-6 hours

Day 7: Low camp to high camp (3540m/11,328ft): 3-4 hours

Day 8: High camp to upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to high camp: 2-3 hours

Day 9: High camp to Sidhing Village (1700m/5440ft): 6-7 hours. Then drive to Pokhara 2 hrs

Day 10: Drive back to Kathmandu

Day 11: Sightseeing in Bhaktapur City

Day 12: Final departure
