Day 1

place Morrinho Favela Project

Pereira da Silva became one of the most visited favelas due to its magnificent work of art and exhilarating art installation and viewpoints. Morrinho is a favela Project in small scale, that represents the life and dream of many cariocas' favelas. The project is maintained by its founders, residents, and visitors. The Project had already traveled the world being installed on various international art festivals, and have inspired the creation of a TV channel, on youtube. The tour starts in Santa Teresa, art district, with a walk up hill on the safest favela in Rio. By the time we arrive at the project installation you will have a chance to hear from local guides about their dreams, accomplishments, creative wisdom, and wealth. Alternatively, you can engage on a hands-on activity, creating your customized painted brick to bring home with you or install on the location. You will be inspired by the magical world they manifest while supporting a local project that has being attracting locals and visitors from all over the world. Here you have an opportunity to donate to the project and engage on a volunteer action. Join a group activity or tailor your own experience according to your soul’s need. The guides’ suggestion includes a tour to Corcovado to visit the Christ Redeemer statues and its astounding view point and a street art tour in Santa Teresa Art district with a stop for lunch, before or after the visit to the favela project. Come join us on this walk!
