After a local lunch in a riverside setting, you receive a thorough safety briefing before continuing the adventure. Pack only river-use personal belongings, including money, sunblock, shoes, clothes, sunglasses, towel, walking shoes, torch, etc., in a small backpack or waterproof bag. Heavy rains or significant weather may require itinerary adjustments for safety.

Day 3: Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai | Gardens, Hot Springs, and White Temple
After breakfast, meet your driver for a full-day private journey from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai without guide service. The day begins with a visit to a botanical garden, where you can walk through peaceful grounds and take in the variety of plants and flowers.
Continue to natural hot springs for time to stretch your legs and, if you choose, dip your toes in the warm water. Then stop at a charming place known for pies and a garden setting before visiting Wat Rong Khun, the White Temple. Pause for lunch at a local restaurant, then return by covered pick-up truck in the early afternoon. The route covers 20 to 26 km on small roads, village roads, unsealed roads, and small hills. Day 5: Golden Triangle Discovery | Chiang Saen and Opium History
Travel into the Golden Triangle on a half-day private discovery focused on Chiang Saen and opium history. Depart for Chiang Saen and visit the ancient city at Wat Chedi Luang, built by the 3rd ruler of the Lanna Kingdom in the early 13th century.
Continue to the Golden Triangle, where the Ruak River and Mekong River meet to form the border area of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. Visit the Hall of Opium museum, which explains opium’s natural properties, its use as long as 5,000 years ago, its global trade routes during imperialism, and the Opium Wars.

Day 6: Chiang Rai to Lampang | Private Transfers and Public Bus

Day 7: Lampang Hidden Gems | National Park and Floating Pagodas
Set out on a full-day private journey through the Lampang region, beginning with a scenic drive through countryside views toward Chae Son National Park. This natural area is known for misty hot springs, picturesque waterfalls, caves, and scenic viewpoints, with seasonal blossoms adding color in the colder winter months.
Enjoy lunch at a local spot, and if you wish, take a dip in the hot springs for a small fee of 50 THB per person. In the afternoon, continue to Wat Chaloem Phrakiat, the Temple of the Floating Pagodas. A scenic Songtaew ride brings you closer to the site, followed by a short walk to the summit for sweeping vistas and views of pagodas perched atop the mountain.

Day 9: Discover Phrae Heritage | Indigo Workshop and Historic Temples
After breakfast, depart with your guide for a full-day discovery in Phrae. Begin at a local indigo dyeing center, where you take part in a hands-on workshop connected to Phrae’s Phuan heritage. Mix traditional indigo, create tie-pattern cotton, and leave with your own personal creation.
Continue to Wat Chom Sawan, a teak temple built by Shan craftsmen in the early 20th century, and admire its dark red woodwork and intricate Lanna-Burmese roofs. Later, stop at Khum Vongburi Museum for a guided tour of the colonial-style teak house’s noble past before lunch in its museum restaurant. Then visit Wat Phong Sunan, the Temple of the Tortoise, with its white-walled main hall, golden spires, reclining Buddha, and sculpted turtle. As afternoon light softens, reflect on the creative, cultural, and spiritual journey before returning.

Day 10: Phrae to Sukhothai | Driver Transfer and Day Train
Begin with a driver-only transfer to Den Chai Railway Station, taking around 40 minutes. From there, board the day train from Den Chai to Phitsanulok. Your exact departure and arrival times are not fixed in the itinerary, so check your tickets for the confirmed schedule.
On arrival at Phitsanuloke Train Station, continue by private transfer toward Sukhothai. This final road segment takes around 1.5 hours and completes the day’s travel sequence from Phrae by road, train, and private vehicle.

Ride through a small village and rice fields on Sukhothai’s outskirts, reaching the Northern Gate to explore Wat Si Chum. Visit Wat Mahathat, Wat Si Sawai, Wat Sa Si, and other renowned temples showcasing Sukhothai’s ancient ruins. In Bangkok, continue with the arranged transfer between Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal and Suvarnabhumi Airport.
