Day 1: Hanoi to Moc Chau | Limestone Landscapes and Thai Village Culture
Leave your Hanoi hotel by 8:30 AM and travel by road through the Vietnamese countryside toward Hoa Binh Province. Pass through a region of spectacular limestone mountains before winding onward to Mai Chau for lunch. After lunch, resume the journey toward Moc Chau.
Shortly after reaching Moc Chau, continue to an ethnic Thai village to experience the community’s culture and hospitality. Dinner follows the village visit. The day covers 190 km of driving, with transfer services, a guide, lunch, dinner, and water included.
Thai women in Mai Chau are known for weaving traditional brocade textiles.

Day 2: Moc Chau to Nghia Lo | Plateau Roads and Ethnic Communities
After breakfast, depart at 7:30 AM for the long drive from Moc Chau to Nghia Lo. Cross the Moc Chau Plateau, with a possible stop at a local tea plantation, then continue through the lands of Thai, Hmong, and Dao communities. The day’s road journey covers 240 km.
Arrive in Nghia Lo before dark and have dinner at a local restaurant. Transfer, a guide, one entrance fee, all meals, and water are included. From May through August, the routes for Days 1 and 2 may change, with travel consultants available to assist with the arrangements.
Tea cultivation has been established on Moc Chau Plateau since the late 1950s.

Day 3: Nghia Lo to Mu Cang Chai | Terraced Landscapes and Village Walks
After breakfast, depart Nghia Lo at 8:00 AM and drive into one of Northwest Vietnam’s most scenic areas. Among the terraced landscape, stop for a short hike of about 1.5 hours to a Hmong village, where you have lunch. Continue afterward through the surrounding scenery.
In the afternoon, take another short walk to visit a Thai village. Return to the road for the final drive to Mu Cang Chai, completing 100 km of driving. Transfer services, a guide, all meals, and water are included as part of the day’s arrangements.
Mu Cang Chai’s terraced fields were recognized as a national landscape in 2007.

Day 4: Mu Cang Chai to Sapa | Via Than Uyen and Tram Ton Pass
Depart Mu Cang Chai at 8:30 AM and travel toward Sapa via Than Uyen. The 170 km drive leads through paddy fields, ethnic villages, and Tram Ton Pass. Along the route, stop for about two hours of trekking, including a visit to a local village, before continuing the journey.
Arrive in Sapa at around 5:00 PM. Dinner is at your own expense, followed by free time to explore the town independently. Transfer services, a guide, breakfast, lunch, and water are included for the day, while the evening meal remains your own arrangement.
Tram Ton Pass is recognized as Vietnam’s highest mountain pass.

Day 5: Sapa Trek to Ta Phin | Fields, Local Encounters, and Red Dao Culture
After breakfast, spend the morning walking around Sapa independently. At 10:30 AM, meet your guide and transfer to the trek’s starting point. Follow the route through working fields, with plentiful opportunities to meet and speak with local people, and stop for a picnic lunch along the way.
Continue trekking to Ta Phin village, home of the Red Dao people, where your Dao host family welcomes you for an ethnic-style dinner. The trek covers 14 km over four to five hours and has a difficulty rating of 4/5. Transfers, a guide, entrance fees, all meals, and water are included.
Traditional Red Dao crafts in Ta Phin include herbal bath remedies and brocade embroidery.

Day 6: Ta Phin, Sapa, and Hanoi | Village Morning and Overnight Train Return
At first light, experience the sights and sounds of morning village life. You may join your host family in feeding the animals, cleaning the houses, gardening, or preparing breakfast. After breakfast, walk briefly around the village or spend more time enjoying the views and your hosts’ company. A car or van then returns you to Sapa in 30 minutes.
Use the afternoon in Sapa to shower, relax, and explore the town. At 5:30 PM, transfer to Lao Cai train station for the 8:15 PM departure to Hanoi in an air-conditioned soft-sleeper cabin. Arrive safely at 5:00 AM and arrange your own onward transportation. A taxi usually costs around VND 80,000. Transfers, a guide, breakfast, lunch, water, and the train ticket are included. Your adventure concludes in Hanoi.
In Red Dao culture, the cấp sắc ceremony marks male adulthood and expresses respect for ancestors.
