Today you will embark on a group excursion with English speaking biologist guide Coiba Island is the biggest in Central America and is part of Coiba National Park, a marine reserve in the Gulf of Chiriqui. It became a penal colony in 1919. The prison was closed in 2004. This tour allows you to experience Coiba at its best. We visit 2 different reefs enjoy a pic nic at the beach and walk one of the trails on Coiba Island. You are likely to see endemic howler monkeys, agoutis and colorful birds in the forest. Coiba’s marine environment presents turtles, many types of colorful reef fish, and the harmless white-tip reef-shark around Coiba’s reefs. The western Azuero coastline, know as the Azuero Sunset Coast is one of Panama’s most beautiful and pristine coastal areas in the country.
