Day 1

place Arrival at El Calafate Airport & Transfer to the hotel + Nativo Experience

Arrival in Calafate and transfer to your hotel. Depending on your flight arrival, departure from the hotel to enjoy the Nativo Experience. It is a 4×4 excursion along the coast of Lake Argentino that crosses the passage of the man on these lands, offering a paleontological approach to rediscover the stories of the first expeditions and daring adventurers who launched into the unknown. Between the cliffs, and overlooking the Andes Mountains, the tour focuses on the first contacts between the expeditionaries and the natives, and then enters the Tehuelche world. On the shores of the lake are the caves where thousands of years ago that culture left its marks on the rock that leads us to interpretation. The tour culminates in another cave, with a lunch or dinner which makes us travel back in time. Accommodation @ Xelena Hotel, Lake view room (except triple room which is side view)

We later continue to Puesto de las Vacas to disembark and walk with the specialized guides to visit the antique place where inhabitants used to live, and learn about the flora and fauna of the region. The navigation continues towards the Canal Upsala to enjoy a panoramic view of Upsala and Bertacchi Glaciers while we have lunch on board. Then we sail through Los Témpanos Channel towards the north wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier to disembark in La Soledad dock, where the tour finished. place Minitrekking Excursion on Perito Moreno Glacier

Braekfast. In due time, transfer from the hotels to Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. The excursion begins in the embarking pier located in Bajo de las Sombras, about 6 kilometers before the Glacier Balconies, where we embark to sail during 20 minutes across the Lago Rico enjoying the breathtaking views of the Perito Moreno Glacier’s front wall. After disembarking, we enter the shelter and organize groups of not more than 20 people who follow the guides along the lake’s shore towards the edge of the Glacier. Once on the ice, the guides put each participant a pair of crampons on and explain how to use them. The half an hour circuit that follows introduces you to the fascinating landscape of the glacier: streams, small lagoons, crevasses and plenty of ice formations. The trek is moderate. Although the ice surface where we walk is not regular, it’s firm and safe. Throughout the tour we receive explanations about flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region as well as about the particular phenomenon that happens in the Perito Moreno Glacier that causes its rupture. After the walk, a stroll through the forest brings you back to the shelter. Accommodation @ Xelena Hotel, Lake view room (except triple room which is side view)
