- What to wear: Independent on what time of the year you visit Peru, expect anything from heavy rain to dry heat. Due to the fact that Peru also has drastic altitude differences, large variations in temperature can be experienced within the same region, and between the day and night time. It is best to be prepared for both hot and cold weather. It is always best to dress in layers to account for the drastic temperature changes during the day and your level of physical activity during sightseeing. - Money: The currency that’s used in Peru is known as the “sol.” Certain establishments throughout the country do accept US dollars and Euros, but nevertheless, we do recommend changing your money to Peru’s local currency upon arriving at the airport in Peru. This way, you’ll be able to benefit from a better overall exchange rate, given said rate is established by the local authorities. Certain establishments in Peru also accept international credit and debit cards (Visa, American Express, and Mastercard, among others). However, you should always keep in mind that such cards can only be used at major establishments. - Voltage: In Peru is 220 volts, with a frequency of 60 hertz, which is almost double that of what the U.S. uses (120 volts). With respect to electrical outlets, there are two kinds in Peru: Type A and Type C. Type A are those that are commonly seen in the US and Canada, consisting of two parallel flat prongs, one being slightly larger than the other. Type C are those that have rounded prongs and are often seen in European countries. If you’re planning on visiting Peru, you’ll most likely want to take an adaptor with you (voltage and connector converter, if possible), given electrical outlets are only compatible with the aforementioned types. - Altitude: Take time to adjust to the altitude in Cusco.Reserve a day to take it easy, walk around at a slower pace, and eat light to slowly adjust. - Prepare your trip to Peru ahead of time! Now they only allow 2,500 visitors to Machu Picchu per day at various time slots. So definitely prepare your trip ahead of time to ensure that you can get in! - Rainbow Mountain is incredibly crowded these days, but that doesn’t mean you have to hang out with the crowds! We recommend to spend the night before in a Quechua community home the day before and be the first one on the trail as the sun is starting to rise. – Do not drink tap water. Bring a refillable water bottle you can fill up before leaving the hotel. When you’re on your own, purchase a large bottle of water and use it to fill your water bottle. This will cut down on waste.

- Check your Passport Expiration Date: You must have at least 06 months remaining validity for your passport past your departure date in order to enter Peru. - Visas: Most nationalities do not need a visa when traveling to Peru for tourism purposes; however, please see this link if you would like to double-check all nationality requirements: https://www.peru.travel/en/useful-data/visa-and-entry-requirements. - Health & Vaccinations: No vaccinations are compulsory in Peru (except Covid) however it’s always wise to check with your doctor to see if they advise anything or you can check out World Health Organization for up to date travel advice. For travel to the rainforest, prevention against malaria & yellow fever may be considered. Covid: - For entry to Peru, travelers we recommend either having 3 vaccination doses (the requirement for Peruvians) or show proof that you have completed the vaccination plan required by your country of origin to be considered fully vaccinated. - Travelers without a complete vaccination scheme must present a negative PCR-test result issued no more than 48 hours before boarding. - It is mandatory to have travel insurance for us to provide you travel service. We recommend purchasing adequate travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage before arriving in Peru. - Children under the age of 12 are only required to be symptom-free for boarding the plane to Lima.
