Day 2

place Morning Trekking to Moon Valley

MORNING TREKKING MOON VALLEY DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM DISTANCE: 5KM ( 3 MILES) APPROX TIME: 3 HOURS AVERAGE ALTITUDE: 2,500 METERS (8,202 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL) Trekking through the Moon Valley, which is a part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve, moving deeper into its ravines. This walk stands out due to its low tourism load and the fact that it allows us to be completely surrounded solely by one of the most beautiful sceneries of San Pedro de Atacama, where through ravines and caverns we can discover, in an environmentally friendly way, one of the most arid and unique places on the planet, the Salt Mountain Range, which is approximately 20 million years old and one of the most dramatic geological formations of the planet. Recommendations: Trekking clothes, sunscreen, trekking shoes, backpack, water, snack. Includes: transportation, tour guide, first aid kit, radios, GPS, bottle of water, snack. AFTERNOON SANDBOARDING DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM DISTANCE: 5KM ( 3 MILES) APPROX TIME: 3 HOURS AVERAGE ALTITUDE: 2,500 METERS (8,202 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL) Another option, loaded with sport and tourism, is Sandboarding in the Death Valley, which is truly a different choice for travelers because sliding down dunes that are over 120 meters (394 feet) under a blue sky, in boards similar to those used for snowboarding, turns this activity into a very dynamic and unique experience. The best part of this sport, which is apt for everyone, is that it is easy to learn, in addition it includes a 25-minute class with a professional instructor. Since safety is a main concern for us, each passenger will have access to a professional outfit which includes a helmet, the board, boots, and goggles. After the classes with a qualified tour guide, in English or Spanish, participants will have approximately two and a half hours to practice freely on the dunes, making us the company that spends the most time on the dunes.

Day 3

place Morning Trekking to Guatin and Puritama Hot Springs

DURATION: 4-5 HOURS / 2 HOURS WALKING AVERAGE ALTITUDE: 3,200 METERS (10,498 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL) From Guatin, an ancient Atacameño settlement, home to herders and farmers, we begin our trekking upstream. Bordering the Puritama, we will discover that this warm watercourse provides marvelous fertility in the Andean foothills, we will see several plant species, such as the fountain grass, mule fat, saltbush, rhatany and the most attractive of all, the Cardon Cactus that can measure up to 7 or 8 meters (23 to 26 feet) in this ravine. We will end the trek at the Termas de Puritama where the temperature of the waters that flow from the mountain range rises, turning this place into one of the most sought out tourism sites in the sector because the river finally flows to the surface. In addition, the place has the necessary services to provide a comfortable visit and, thus, nature provides us with the possibility of enjoying this landscape, a delightful bath in its waters at 33 ºC (91 ºF), that are rich in minerals and have medicinal properties. Several bird species, such as the Grey-Hooded Sierra-Finch, Scale-Throated Earthcreeper and Grassland Yellow-Finch, among others, will provide us with the ideal scenery to fully enjoy nature. Recommendations: Trekking clothes and shoes, swimsuit and towel, mineral water, sunscreen. Overnight at Hotel Noi Casa Atacama (Deluxe room)

Day 4

place Morning Trekking to Cerro Toco

DURATION: 5 HOURS Toco Hill is an ideal mountain for those who wish to climb one for the first time. It is also a great option for those who enjoy the landscape because there is no comparable image to the one you see from the peak. The base of the volcano is located at approximately 5,200 meters (17,060 feet) above sea level, where we can also find the Purico sulphur mine, the highest in the world. In ancient times, it was very important for the economy of the Atacameños. From there, we will begin going up the trail on foot. The climb takes approximately two hours and from its peak we can enjoy a panoramic view towards Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile. In addition, we will be able to appreciate a view of the Licancabur and Juriques volcanoes and the Chajnantor plain, where today we can find the ALMA project. • Difficulty: Low • Slope: 500 meters (1,640 feet) • Beginning Altitude: 5,100 meters (16,732 feet) above sea level • Peak Altitude: 5,604 meters (18,386 feet) above sea level • Approximate climb time: 2:50 hours • Approximate time to descend: 1:50 hours Overnight at Hotel Noi Casa Atacama (Deluxe room)
