Arrival to Guatemala City
Arrival at the airport in Guatemala City. You are received by our taxi driver, who will transfer you to the hotel in Antigua Guatemala. Antigua is a beutiful and colorful city, full of colonial baroque architecture. The hotel, is built in the colonial style, but has recently been beautifully renovated. Rooms are arranged around various patios and seatings areas, and there's also a rooftop terrace with great views of the volcanoes. You stay 3 nights, in a double room with private bathroom and breakfast included.

Chocolate workshop & Cultural Walking
Today you have a day full of cultural expirences! In the morning, you will go to the chocolate museum for a chocolate workshop! You will learn how to make chocolate from the bean to the bar! You also learn about the history and culture of chocolate, and finally you will make your own chocolate bar, which you can even customize the way you like it!
In the afternoon you will have a private Cultural Walking Tour around this World Heritage Site. The tour focuses on the city’s history, cultural trends and restoration efforts. We visit the City Hall Palace, focus on the Royal Palace, visit San Jose Cathedral, and learn about Maya archeology at the Maya Jades Museum. Complete the tour at the best museums in town at Paseo de los Museos.

Volcano hike & thermal spa
Early morning you depart for a volcano hike to the active volcano Pacaya. It takes a 1,5-hour drive in bus, and then a hike of about 2,5 hours to the surroundings of the crater, through the forest. As this volcano is still active, you can´t get to the crater, but you will have a good view on it. You walk on the lava fields, and you´ll see and feel that there is still hot lava under the surface! You can bring marshmallows to roast. The hike includes a Spanish-speaking guide.
In your return to Antigua you are going to stop by a thermal spa. Where you can relax and enjoy a thermal circuit, immersing your body for short periods of time in thermal water pools of different temperatures. After finishing the thermal experience you are taken back to your hotel in Antigua.

Transfer to Lake Atitlan and ziplining!
You are picked up at the hotel, and in a collective vehicle you are transfered to Panajachel, on Lake Atitlan (if on Thursday or Sunday, you can visit the market of Chichicastenango here). You spend 2 nights at a comfortable hotel. You have a double room with bathroom, and breakfast is included. The hotel has gardens, a swimming pool and restaurant.
Time for adventure! You´re picked up at the hotel for a visit to the nature reserve. You´re going ziplining! After a nice hike to the starting point through the reserve, you fly on ziplines above the reserve with its canyons, waterfall, hanging bridges and forest, and at the same time you get to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views on Lake Atitlan. Safety and customer service are important here, so safe and good material is included, as well as experienced guides. You can choose between the standard route of 8 lines (the longest of 320m), or the extreme route of 7 cables (the longest of 820m). Included with the tour is a previous instruction, gear (harness, helmet, gloves) and a certificate. An unforgettable experience! For the not so brave ones, you can also spend an enjoyable morning visiting the trails and observing animals or the butterfly sanctuary. After finishing the tour, you are taken back to the hotel (or anywhere in Panajachel).

Boat tour around Lake Atitlan
Time to explore the lake! Today you make a boat tour, the ultimate way to enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the lake. The boat with bilingual guide will take you along several indigenous villages around Lake Atitlan; for example San Juan la Laguna, Santiago Atitlan and San Pedro la Laguna. Our guide will give you some recommendations of places that you will love. You return to Panajachel in the afternoon.

Transfer to Lanquin
Today is a travel day, because you travel from Panajachel to Lanquin. This trip takes about 8 hours, and leads you to the very interior of Guatemala, in the area of lush cloud forests and green hills and mountains.

Semuc Champey tour
Today the tour that you came here for; from the hotel you depart for National Park Semuc Champey. This is formed by what is known as a natural land bridge 500 meters long which forms the backbone of a series of descending turkoize pools and small waterfalls that make up Semuc Champey. We take you on a full-day tour, starting with a visit to the Kan-Ba caves. This cave complex is flooded by water, and with a guide you will swim, climb and slide through the caves, with only candle in your hand (can be optional). After that you visit Semuc Champey itself, where you can hike to the lookout point, and take a swim in the stunning turkoize pools. Finally, you tube down the river to relax from this day. Lots of fun and adventure!

Today you travel to Flores, the colorful peninsula in the Peten Itzá lake. The ride takes about 8 hours. In Flores you stay at a comfortable hotel, with great lakeviews. Standard+comfort: collective shuttle. Luxury: private transfer

Tikal National Park tour
Get ready to visit one of the highlights of Guatemala! Tikal National Park is on the program for today. It is a 45-minute drive from Flores to Tikal, and in Tikal you have a guided tour through this immense park of Mayan ruins. The bilingual guide will walk you along the many ruins, temples and complexes from the ancient Mayan culture, and tell you everything about the impressive history. Entrance fees are included, as well as the lunch in the park. In the afternoon the van returns you to the hotel in Flores.Standard+comfort: collective tour. Luxury: private tour

Crater Azul tour
In the morning you are picked up at the hotel for a tour to Crater Azul. This is a beautiful blue lagoon in the shape of a crater, where you can swim in the crystal clear water. The tour consists of a 1-hour car ride and a 1-hour boat ride to get there. You will have enough time to enjoy swimming and snorkeling and enjoy this natural beauty. A lunch box is provided as well. Around 3:00pm you return to Flores.

You are picked at the hotel, and in a private vehicle you are transfer to the airport Mundo Maya, for your flight back to Guatemala City, then in the airport La Aurora your flight back home. Hasta pronto Guatemala!
